What did you do for your 21st birthday?

My husband turns 21 on July 27 and I'm currently trying to figure out what the heck we're going to do to celebrate! I know the tradition is to go out and get drunk since that's what most people do to celebrate being able to legally buy your own drinks, but we really don't want to ask my grandparents to watch our daughter so we can go out drinking. Besides, neither of us are particularly big drinkers and I can't take him out since I'm not yet 21 so that was never really an option.
He's been wanting a tattoo of our daughter's name and I was going to get that for him, but then his mother told me not to because she wants to go with him to get a tattoo also (and I think she wants to buy it for him as a gift) so that's out.
So now I'm back at the drawing board lol. So I was wondering, what did you do to celebrate your 21st birthday? Anything special?

Whoah you guys married early! When I first saw your topic, I thought there'd be memories that would be opened up or something, I can't believe you're talking about the 21st birthday of your husband! Whew!
Anyhow, I guess it would be a different celebration when you're already married and still turning 21. Forget the booze, the women and the wild night out.
Perhaps you could go bungee jumping or white water rafting or any extreme sport together that both of you have never done before to mark the special occasion.
Have a great MyLot experience!

Lol yes we did. We got married at 18. xD Had our daughter at 20. But at least we got married and got a house before we had children, unlike some people in my family.
And I should hope he'd forget the women! LOL. The booze I could at least tolerate, but there should only be one woman.
Oh that sounds lovely! I don't think there's really a lot of places like that around here, but I'm pretty sure there's a place about 2 hours away that has white water rafting and I know he'd love that. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh yeah definitely. Unlike a party or a tattoo, anything that is done with you (or with other friends) on the 21st birthday - most especially those activities that are just crazy would be remembered, and he will have a blast and would remember you for the rest of his life!
It also shows how cool you could be! so there you go, I don't think it's that expensive though, if it is, then just pool some money with friends and relatives for this momentous occasion. Have a great time!

Well, here in my country we can buy drinks legally when we have 18, so, I didn't did anything special on my 21st birthday.
I think if you guys can't go out because of yours daughter and you really can't do anything that he will be able to do, maybe you should throw him a surprise party. This way you can enjoy the birthday with him and have his friends and family around.

Well, we can technically go out. My grandparents don't mind babysitting for us, we just didn't think it was appropriate for them to babysit so that he could go out and drink or something like that. But for other things that are more appropriate we can go just the same. :)
That's a good suggestion, except he doesn't have a lot of friends he would like over to our house and he would probably kill me if I had a surprise birthday party. xD But a little get together does sound good, so maybe he'll go for that! Thanks for the suggestion.
