Facebook photo tagging ...what do you think?

I think there is no such great problem in photo tagging feature of facebook.In my view,it is one of the best feature of facebook Suppose if you upload a photo,then you and your friends can only tag your photos.There is no chance of misuse,unless you dont have any spam or fake account in your friendlists.It is your duty to keep away the fakers away from you.

Hi Xcyper, I was not aware of photo tagging, but my friends do that. On our group photos, my friends tag it and thereby the names we can see on photo. Its sometimes happy to see our names, but when its not private enough, then its like we are sharing our names to strangers as well.

Friend, Photo tagging is one of the best features of facebook that we enjoy. And you are right,there is such a drawback but,we haven't faced such a prob in it. That would be nice that feature is restricted only to the person who unload the photo,as you said. Have Nice time my friend.

I like the photo tagging. If someone tags me in a photo on their page, I have the settings on my page set so people cannot see pictures I am tagged in. If I want my friends to see the picture(s), I upload the picture to one of my albums. If I upload pictures to my facebook page, I will notify the people in the pictures and they can tag themselves if they want to. I don't tag friends because I know that some don't like to be tagged in certain pictures, which is understandable. But I do like that photo tagging allows for easier photo sharing.

I don't think photo tagging make big problem. We can tag our friends that is include the picture. But sometime like you say, many people tag us however they were not in the picture. I don't too care about it, and i can see something new from our people's inform. Beside that, i also have tag unknow people due to want invite them to join some website. photo tagging can help many user make business here with free. If you try make money at facebook, sure you like it.

Hi! I like photo tagging in Facebook. But I completely agree with you that it's really annoying sometimes to be tagged in a photo that you're not in. It's okay for me if I'm tagged in a photo that I am not in as long as the photo is something like related to me, my friends are there, my friends went somewhere and wanted to show me, something like that. I don't like being tagged in photos from applications like my number so and so friends, photos that only show words like "what do you think of me" etcetera etcetera, and all other annoying stuff. I have tried to block those kind of taggings but the only way to stop that is to block the friend or the application. Of course, I chose the last resort.

I hate it when I get tagged on those photos of products I'm never gonna be interested in.

I tend to remove any tags of myself in photos whether im in the photo or not. People who know me know what i look like and its just another way for information to be shared/gleaned that doesnt need to be. People share WAY too much information on facebook and then wonder how others know what they know.

i too dont like this friend. it is ok if the tagging is done by the one who uploads pic. also i dont like to be tagged in pics that have no connection with me.

hi, xcyper2084, I agree with you.The most annoying is when online shop tag photo for us many times.I try to remove their pics but then they tag me again and again and full my wall with their tag.Tagging photos should ask permission for tagging or tag request, it will be fair for everyone...

If your friend tag your photo, then just remove your tag. Then it will be ok. Or go to account setting and change the tagging system that without your permission none can tag you in their picture. If other person tags your photo who is not in your friend list, then it is a spam. Just report abuse about that picture. But i want to say that tagging a picture is a great thing. There are lots of picture which are very old that you do not have. So, you can find out only by tagging those pictures. SO, please tag, but beware of spamming. cheers

I can see both perspectives to this issue. I understand how photo tagging can be misused, but it is also allows a great deal of fun with pics! I enjoy being able to tag my friends in fun photos that I upload and vise versa. I also think it is just groovy for my friends to tag themselves in my photos that they wish to appear on their page. If a negative instance does occur and you are tagged in a photo that you do not wish to be included on, you DO have the option to be un-tagged. This feature should prevent anything negative occurring. Do you agree?
