Last month I accompanied a friend to a dermatologist because she has this allergy on her under arms. We thought it's just a simple allergy so she took medicine for anti allergy but after 3 days it really became severe her under arms really darkened because it is really itchy and she can't help myself but to scratch it. When the dermatologist have a check on it the first thing she mention was the allergy is caused by her deodorant. Then she also said that it was a skin asthma wherein in my friend case the asthma came out through her skin. So far the medicine she gives is effective and he also give a lightening cream for the under arm. I just wonder what is really the cause of skin asthma if there is really such thing ?

I don't think that there is such thing called skin asthma.Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the airways which is accompanied by cough, shortness of breath and wheezing.Although asthma is allergic in nature. It primarily occurs in the respiratory system. There are allergy forms in the skin like contact dermatitis and eczema.
I got the same problems as your friend does several years ago.My underarm is swollen red.I thought it was just caused by friction but later I found out that my deodorant was long been expired.I used some creams and it was eventually gone after I stop using deodorant. Now I'm reusing the same kind of deodorant before but I don't have the same problem as before.I'm now very careful of the expiration of every products I'm using.

Oh! If that's the case maybe the real cause of the darkened under arm its really the deodorant. So the dermatologist maybe wrong on its assumption that it is a skin asthma because there is no such thing like that. Because every time my friend where ask what happen to her she always answer it's an skin asthma. Thanks for correcting!!

Probably it's contact dermatitis. It's better if you'll ask a second opinion from another dermatologist to be sure about it.
