Well, I will be honest and tell you that I've not read any of the books and I haven't seen any of the movies either. However, my little sister is a huge fan of Harry Potter and actually committed two days last week to see all of the movies at the theater in a row. The first four movies were the first day and then the last four were the following day with the final movie starting at 12:01. She said that the movie was great. However, she also said that the theater was a mad house, they were showing the movie on all 16 theaters and every one of the showings was a sellout.

When it somes to books and movies, I always prefer to watch the movies first. If I read the books, I will be expecting too much from the movies and will always be disappointed..lol.
I have not read the Harry Potter books but I do enjoy the movies. I think this last one will be well worth going to the movies to see it. Especially in 3-D. I was a little unhappy with the last 3-D movie I saw. I usually really like them but the last one I watched really didn't have a lot of the 3-D effects. I think Harry Potter will be a good one to watch like that though.

I've watched and read all the movies and books up to this day. I can't wait for Part II to come out, since it's gonna mark the end of something that's been there all my life. It's gonna leave some sort of emotional hole in my life, you know. I recommend that you complete your collection of all the Harry Potter books - sometimes, there's some better parts in the books than in the movies.
