Someone told me once that I kill a relationship before it gets started...my problem is not wanting to get hurt again....and since I have been alone for so long it would be hard to suddenly be with someone....and change everything I do! Good for you though! Glad things are really looking up!

Well, I did not delete you. Yes, I have seen it be human nature to refuse to be happy and to feel like we perhaps do not deserve it. It is common to sabotage ourselves.

I have been examining my relationship with my husband because there doesn't seem to be much of one. My eldest daughter is going to college in the fall, her sister 3 years behind her, then it will be just him and me. We have to get on track. I am going to try and make more of an effort, to be more accepting. In the meantime I have had some discussions with him (without the distraction of television) to make him realize the disconnect. So I've put a bug in his head and hope he is thinking about it instead of living in his own little world. This is my second marriage and I want it to work, especially since I strongly believe God brought us together for a reason. We broke up and lived in different cities for 2 years but he found his way back to me. I believe there was a reason and have to make every effort to make this work. But I can't deny I get frustrated at times and had someone who treats me like I want and deserve to be treated. Like you said, we all deserve happiness. I need to try and make it happen with the one I'm with. There's only one Prince William and Kate has him.

I agree. We should accept the blessings that comes our way or it might not come again in the future. We should also grab it and think that it's for us since it's knocking on our door.

I hope you are gone from here and enjoying the real world. That is where our true joy is found. Perfection is not ment to be found. If we could find perfection in anything we would never appreciate anything at all. My Hubby and I are not perfect but we love eachother and ballance eachother. He has strengths where I have weaknesses and the other way around. Its human nature to see the bad in things and try to protect ourselves from it all but I would love one day to say that I only see the good and just skim the bad. You deserve happines and I hope you run for it with both arms open.

You are lucky to find someone that stuck around when you tried to push him away. That is true love, in my eyes. Welcome back to mylot too. I was away for awhile too and came back after about 6 months. I noticed that most of my friends were still on my list but very few of them were active anymore so I just deleted everyone and I figure I will just start all over again and request new friends. I have kept a couple though because we still talk now and it is nice to talk to people you almost feel like you know. My life hasn't been quite as exciting as yours either, I was away for the opposite reason than you. I was away because of a break-up. I didn't feel like working on the computer or anything. I was pretty depressed for awhile there. Now I am back and feeling good and talking to all my old and new friends on mylot. Good luck and happy mylotting my friend, Chris

I am glad to hear from you again ElusiveButterfly. I haven’t been here myself for a while. All I manage to so these days is drop in every now and again and respond to some of my friends’ posts. Life is not permitting me to do any more than that unfortunately but it is better than nothing I guess. Congratulations for your upcoming marriage, I wish you both all the love in the world. You are right in saying that if you seek perfection you will never find it. I have been known to sabotage my own good fortune because of fear…I hope I have learnt better these days…Life is for living that is for sure and as the well know book says, “Feel the fear and do it anyway…” Best wishes to you my friend!

Life is Library of experience, unfortunately in that library we have the books of bad experiences(mainly). So we have to try our level best to give good friendship, and live with smiley face....

Sometimes I admit that I try to do things that seems right and make it wrong because I think I don't deserve it there are other people who needs it more than me. I think I should not do that as you say we deserve to be happy but I am happy with the decisions taken. Now I will not look back and just continue with my life. How can they delete someone who says they are elusive? lol. This is a good, wise post. I'm glad you're happy. We ALL become too analytical over time, usually because our choices when younger weren't always so hot. I have had a life altering experience, too. Makes you more accepting of whatever good comes your way.
