I don't want a Harry Potter sequel!

Don't get me wrong! I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan, and I've been supporting it even before the movies came out. I first read the book when I was 13. And I loved every bit of it. But now that the movie franchise is also over, a lot of fans are hoping for a sequel. In my opinion, I wouldn't want that. Because I want to preserve what is already existing. It's hard to explain, but all I want to say is that if a new series start again, it might get worse. We're already happy with the Harry Potter now. And if J.K. Rowling starts a sequel, then maybe a lot of fans might get disappointed because they're expecting too much. I'm a big fan, but I want it as it is. If J.K. Rowling wants to write more, then it's good. But I hope it is about something else, not about Harry Potter. The Harry Potter series now is already perfect. So let it be like that.

Hi PP! I am not Harry Potter fan but I watched every movie of Harry Potter and spent some time to read some of the book especially the last episode. I share the same view with you. I don't even like the author to continue write about Harry and glad she decided to have no more Harry Potter. I don't think the actor and the actress of the movie would love to devote themselves to the same movie again. I don't even like to feel to watch another sequel of it. Just stop and that is the end. In anything we do there should be a limit. 6 series are enough for me. They can make the sequel in the next 10 years if they want to but not next year. I get it enough~(^^)

i really do not mind if there will be more of Harry Potter novels. If it is written by JK Rowling then i believe we will never get dissappointed because with the 7 books i was never dissappointed with any of it. If it is from her, then i would say i will expect it more

If there will be a sequel, would you love to read? I think Harry Potter is too perfect so everyone wants to keep it as own. We can't accept any changes. If J.K.Rowling really starts a sequel, I will read. At least she revives Harry Potter. But like you said, a lot of fans might be expecting too much. It will get worse. J.K Rowling has her idea, I think. We can just wait or keep it in memory. It's our Harry Potter, also hers.

I can see exactly what you are trying to say. I have to admit I used to think that another Harry Potter film would be an excellent way of continuing the legacy. After reading your opinion, I, too, agree with you reasoning. Harry Potter is perfect the way it is, and it does not need to be changed. As it happens I am very pleased with the books and how well the movies have portrayed the books. I would not change them in any way. I hope that JK Rowling not not release a sequel and possibly dissapoint all of us Potter fans!

I agree - to a certain point... I would love to see how Harry ends up, besides having 3 kids... I guess I would like to see more Harry, but only if J.K. can write them as well as the first ones - I would also like her to write more, and stop fiddling around with side issues... ALTHOUGH, I would LOVE to see "prequels"!

Hello, pinkpiglet. I absolutely agree with you. Harry Potter is already perfect as it is. I have read all the books, there is only the last movie left to watch. Why make more movies? Why change it? I have been disappointed with the Pirates of Caribbean, there are movies and more movies coming out, being produced. Hey, it is time to stop! No more sequels! The same thing is happening with Mission Impossible. I believe it is about time for producers to start bringing out new ideas, even more creativity. It is like if they made a Titanic 2, or something like that. It just ruins it. I am with you, I believe Harry Potter is over and it should be like that! Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I beg to disagree. I think having another one is great. I'm really not exhausted watching Harry Potter series even if it takes forever. This is the first movie series that I always look forward every year. But I respect your opinion and I also agree that it's PERFECT.

Well I totally disagree with you. But before going further let me tell you a story. A entrepreneur bought a diamond mine in Africa. He was lucky and made excellent money, mining it for years. Later the diamonds finished when they went deeper. So this guy sold that money to another entrepreneur at a very low price as he has already earned a lot from the mine and now there was no diamond remaining. This new entrepreneur asked his men to dig 2 more meters and voila! world's biggest ever diamond mine was discovered. So what I mean to say that Sequel can be good, can be even better. J.K.Rowling wrote every single book so nicely and each was better than the previous. So why we are thinking that all of a sudden her writing will be a crap. Its baseless. In my opinion she should continue writing and imagining. We are with you Rowling. I am a huge potter fan. I have read all books, numerous times, seen all movies, numerous times and I am still hungry for it. So all those who don't want the sequel, please don't read and let others read. "AVADA KEDAVRA".

I totally agree with you and I completely understand. I love the series and it is perfect as it is. For me, the series talks about Harry Potter's struggle to survive in the magical world and as well as his struggle keeping the safety of the magical world against Voldemort. And 19 years later we know that they are happy with children of their own off to start their own new adventures. We could pretty much guess that they lived happily for those years after their final battle against Voldemort. What more complicated things do we need to learn about Harry when (for me, personally at most) everything has been perfectly wrapped up in the last book. All the questions from the first 6 books answered. The 7 book series is Harry Potter's story and journey where he met loyal and faithful companions and found a place he cherishes the most. I want to leave it at that. :) It just seems magical to leave it as it is to me. And if ever JK Rowling would still want to write, I am perfectly happy with it too, she is after all, an amazing writer. And I am sure she would be able to come up with a story that would be at par or even exceed Harry Potter.
