it is really quite difficult when we are trying to learn for something. When I was only learning to play the instrument I also hat chords like the "F" and the likes which involves our 4 fingers, I thought at first that it was just because my fingers are too short but actually it was not the case, all I needed was to stiffen my frail fingers and to practice the chords over and over again so that my fingers will be used to it sooner. Fortunately, after a year (quite too long dba? lol) of perseverance, it all paid off. As for strumming and/or plucking.. you'll learn it as time goes by provided that your practice scheme is a continuous one- at least a single practice session a day for at least 20 mins. will do. and of course without this you'll not succeed..: ..PATIENCE.. You need tons and tons of it. Always have this one with you.

I do like listening to music of different kinds of musical instruments. I like guiter music too, but I don't play the guiter. I had started on the harp once, but didn't get too far. If you like to learn to play guiter, you would need to have a good instructor, and experienced instructor.

you are right.. and this instructor must know how to teach his/her student in a simple way.

Haha I started playing guitar when I was 12 years old and going through a "punk" stage. Of course I continued to go through the punk stage and just left guitar behind about 3 years later. I recently picked it back up again and I'm not as bad as I thought it would be. You should buy an accoustic guitar, maybe even a cheap one - and just learn some of the basic chords - such as C, G, D, A, E, F - and right there, with only those basic six chords, you can play dozens and dozens of songs. It's pretty neat. I think it's awesome when people know how to play guitar, especially girls - when they can just pick one up and run with it. You can sometimes get lessons, take a college class, or even teach yourself how it works (that's how I did it and I know quite a bit now). I'm still pretty amateur-ish (I don't do solos or anything like that) but I can play quite a few "bon fire" accoustic songs and they actually sound pretty legitimate! Good luck to ya!

I would love to learn to play the guitar. it is such a beautiful instrument and can bring such musical joy. There are times that i wish i had taken greater opportunities to learn to play. I think it would be very rewarding.

I learned how to play guitar when I was in high school. My dad bought me a guitar and I really tried so hard to learn how to play it. I usually check the chord charts and some music book. You can also check online about guitar tabs. There are tutorial videos in YouTube as well that might be helpful. It is easy to learn guitar nowadays since there's a lot of references you can use. Unlike before that I only rely on my chord chart.

hello there! well i play guitar, firstly i learnt bass, and then i learnt guitar,i was playing in some bands at this time. Wellt he thing is that if u want to play really well, maybe get someone to teach u,or do some music school to learn tricks and other things that would be hard to learn and discover it alone. But if u just want to play, just like me,that i learned by myself,u could start just by practicing and playing at some bands.,but for this u should read at internet,or maybe buy some magazines, that will say and teach u the chords, and position of the fingers and such =) good luck for u!

Hi! I play the guitar! I started when I was 15, joined a college band when i was 17 and now that I'm working as a Nurse, I teach the guitar (as a part-time job). First is to know how to read the chord chart. Try searching for it in the web. Reading is easy and the hard part is actually the strumming. When I teach my students, the easiest way is to strum: down, down, up up up, then down. Repeat this one several times with an easy chord such as A or C. How to strum effectively? If it does not ring--you have to press the strings harder. If your strumming sounds ugly--then try shaking your right hand, no stress on the wrist. Practice! And don't quit even if it hurt your fingers and even if it's hard. No pain no gain.
