Any advice that you can give to an insurance newbie to get new referrals ?

I want your ideas. - I want your ideas to help an insurance newbie for his business.

I have a friend who has just starting his new business in insurance business by being an agent.However, he doesn't want to promote any products to his friends or relatives just as almost all the insurance companies will encourage any newbie to do in the first stage.If you have any useful ideas beside making cold call to my friends, I think you will help him a lot in his new business.What will your advice be? Share with us.

Well, even if your friend doesn't want to market the insurance to his friends and family, he should let them know that he is starting a new career as an insurance agent and that they should let anyone that they know about it so that his business will be able to grow through word of mouth. The second tip that I can give to anyone that is starting a career selling something is to try to talk to at least 10 different people a day about his business. If you are only able to get 10% of people to respond, that is still growth in the right direction.

Doarn, i think your tip is surely practical and useful. I agree with that when we set a target and reach that target everyday and we will for sure increase the opportunity to be success in any business. But still there will be one question leave,my friend didn't feel comfortable to make use of friends and relatives to do promotion for him and if talk to strangers, no matter how many people you will get in a day, it will still be what they call"cold target"because they have no relationship with those people at all. The chance for my friend to successfully do business with those people will be less. What do you think?

Hello there, Your friend might not have a confidence with the product he wants to sell. that is why he does not want his friend and relatives to be involved. Just my idea! ! ! Or he might not have the confidence in herself to promote. The best thing to do might be to study the ins and outs of her insurance product for her to be equipped with knowledge of the know. This may give her the confidence!

Hello ! Insurance agents are very useful for the society. In case of contingency the family gets the money. Your friend should learn the basis first. Read. discuss with his colleagues. Then he should start with his well wisher who will oblige him -- I did like that for one of my neighbors - she took insurance - I took first policy for her --After taking that policy he can go ahead initially among his distant relatives and friends --with hope 2 out of 100 will agree. Success lies in expanding the number contacted without losing hope. Hope is the key factor for success of insurance agents. Let him be good to his bosses. Let him not envy his colleagues - yes a minister's daughter or son will be able to get more policies automatically. that cannot be the case for your friend. let him try, try and succeed.
