Whe did you start the alphabet with your child? my son is three months old today and I am already signing him his abc's and showing them to him in sign language. I even go on Youtube and play videos with the alphabets. I guess he seems to like I becaue he would watch the whole video and he seems to be smiling while watching the video (probably because of the colors). When I am doing the alphabet in sign language he stays focus on my hand while i'm signing. So do you think he is too young? Nowadays kids know the alphabet before they start kindergrden.

It is never too early to start teaching your child anything. the more they are exposed to it even when they are not totally aware of what is being said the more quickly they will catch on later. My 2 and a half year old counts to 15 without missing a number and I attribute the first 10 to counting fingers and or toes out loud with every diaper change. I would sing the ABC's or recite nursery rhymes while nursing, both as a way to connect with my child, and during those nighttime feedings to keep me awake enough to know when she was done.

It is never too early to teach children the alphabet, or letters, numbers, rhymes etc.. of course no 3 month old is gonna sing the alphabet back, but that's not the point. We read to our daughter in the womb, she sung songs, read books, and now she is 3.5 and is talking at a 4.5 year old level, knows every letter of the alphabet, count to 30, about 25 nursery rhymes, and talks like there is no tomorrow! not to gloat, I am just saying that anything you start early WILL have an effect on them later on... our little one knew the alphabet when she was about 2:) well done! your doing well, he will be getting his PHD before you know it!!:)

Is not it too early to teach your child the alphabet yet he is only three months. I understand that it is interesting. And also I think it's nice to know the alphabet children early. Very nice discussion. Have a nice day ~

I believe teaching your child at a younger age usually helps out in the long run. I started learning my ABC's when I was about 2 years old. Kids are like sponges and pick up everything.
