Me and my friends has this habit of tasting foods from different restaurant of different nationality.
I ordered mango lassi in an Indian restaurant "Bollywood".
But when i tasted it,it's not as tasty as what I've tasted from another Indian restaurant "Prince of Jaipur" (nice advertisement here) hehehe.
I called the waiter and told him my complains...
He is very accommodating then and listen to my complain and even take it as a challenge.
Now here's the challenge, "if he can't make the next glass as tasty as what I expect...he won't stop making/mixing the ingredients until it reach my standards"
What a nice bargain
So,he asks me what kind of taste do i want.
I told him,add more mango and put less yogurt because it is too sour. :)
Good thing he got what i want with the second glass
Have you ever experienced the same?
Do you try other country's restaurant and dishes?

Hi Jai!
I love to have a glass of sweet of salted Lassi. However, I like to have mango-milk-shake rather than Lassi-mango-shake. This incident has not happened with me. However, once we were served burnt baked bread in a reputed restaurant and that was immediately replaced on our request. I love to try dishes of other country, however, I do not get much opportunities.

Dear sister,
I can’t remember any such incident, may be I am not a frequent visitor in restaurant. When I visited I liked the things I ordered and there was no chance of complaining. It is really great they have replaced the food/drink which you ordered. I am not sure here they will replace the same if we complaint for low quality. But on other items, I replaced it if the quality is not satisfied.
Have a great weekend dear sister.

dear sis,
They should my dear,it's too costly.
Indian restaurant's here are very very costly, even Indian national's seldom visit Indian restaurant due to this very high price (hahaha)-knowing how cheap it is back in India.
But it's okay,...the fun is worth it my dear
have a great weekend

That's good offer and bargain even if it happen to me I will dare it. And also the waiter has sense of care for the restaurant because if he did not done that, definitely bad reputation and effect to their restaurant. I did not experienced such thing, only bad service and late serving I've experienced in the retaurant, they said 5-6 minutes but takes 20 minutes before serving.

Waiting..yes,i don't have patient with it.
So,if they tell me to wait for 15 minutes i definitely change my order to what is available.
Waiting is fine if i am having it with restaurant that offers fresh/live fishes.
Where you have to fished out your order/choice of fish from the tank so it means you have to wait for 10-45 till it is cooked and still depends on what kind of cooking is to be done.
have a great day always

Yes my dear friend I faced this problem before my marriage I was gone in a hotel with my college friends. We all are 5 girls and when we placed the order of pineapple juice with ice they are served the juice without ice and tell us now ice is not available we all are said him why you are not tell before. No we cant drink the juice without ice then he said wait five minutes I will arrange and he arranged ice for us then we take the juice and paid the money. We are paying the money then their duty to serve the juice according to our choice.

dear,
That's really annoying then,he can tell you first before he bring your order and asks if it is okay to serve your juice without ice...
But juice is not good without ice ...so,you have a choice whether to take the juice or cancel the order.
Have a great day sis...hope you are doing fine now

I like trying cuisines of different countries. But my husband doesn't :-(
He doesn't like even trying other Indian cuisines besides Kerala, Andhra and Kannada food. So, it's hard for me to try something new unless I am going with my friends.
Glad you got the perfect mango lassi:-)

hello SV,
I understand, there is no way you can try other cuisines unless you go out with your friends.
You can not try cooking other dishes also because your hubby won't like it either.
At least you have tried other cuisines with friends and that's exciting and also fun.
yah,i like mango lassi a lot, strawberry is fine too,but doesn't fit my taste.

hello bing,
We have the right to complain,or else they will not find out their mistakes,or they will never try their best to serve good dishes.
That is why some restaurant even have a "suggestion box" where we can place our suggestion/s and complaints.
have a good day always

Hi jaiho: That's fearless in my opinion. When I don't feel satisfied about a plate on a restaurant, what I usually do is to remember this and depending of the situation I won't go back to this restaurant anymore if the attention I've received was poor or I simply won't ask for this plate again because it seems that it's not their speciality.

Well you certainly have a good but costly habit, here in my city we have indian hotels and restaurents that serve indian food only, there are 2 chinese restaurants too.
A poor man like me never visits any hotel, resturants, i eat food prepared at home only, mostly.
If in a mood, we all go to a road side Punjabi Dhaba, order food of our choice and eat.
It is not costly, food is good, no chance of asking to replace the order
You have blessings of Dada

Yes I have had some problems in a few places through the years. Not with drinks but with food. Like if something was not cooked right, or it just didn't look good. But for the most part, I do not really have a problem. Now, when there is a place I go and the food or the service is not good enough, I never go back there, and yes I do tell my friends not to go. Word of mouth goes a long way.

Hi friend!
Actually it's my hubby who always do this, lol! I don't usually ask for a replacement when the taste didn't reach what I am expecting it's supposed to be,I just don't order it when I go there the second time around. But I usually ask for a replacement when I saw something unusual on what I ordered like if the soup is not plenty or the food is too oily, hehe!
I remember one time, hubby and I decided to eat in Chowking and he was so delighted with the pictures of the food that was shown in front of him so he ordered for it but when given to him,he really complained why it didn't look just as many as shown in the picture, lol! He ordered for pancit bihon and the pic shows it was almost a plateful of bihon but the one given to him is just a 3 spoonful for him, lol! Well, the manager did replace it,haha! 'Cause if they did not do it,hubby might eat them, joke! Haha!

haha.. oh yeah, good thing he got it on your 2nd glass...or else, that resto would get bankrupted because of a "nasty mango lassi". hahaha...
anyweiz, never tried that before.. but i sometimes do ask replacement for stuffs i purchased if it doesn't satisfy me.. just like what i did with the USB cable i bought...i was going to use it to extend my net modem, but i never thought that it won't work 'coz it's too long.. sadly, when i returned to the store to have it replaced, the clerk told me that they only replace products with factory defects..he said that i should've bought "USB cable with power booster". i never know there was such a thing...
nice primary photo..she really looks like a panda there.. haha... =D

Hi sis . That's quite funny we don't get flavored lassi over here or maybe i have never seen it till now. Here we have two types of lassi one is sweetened lassi and other is salted one. People here at place prefers shakes and juice more. I have tasted flavored yogurts though but didn't liked them and i think its not liked by many people as i see them quite less and no promotions now.
As for the answer to your question i don't ask them to replace , maybe ask them for salt or pepper if its less in the food.

dear sis,
Nice to see you again.
I also asks for some condiments when the food is like less salt or,i need to add some condiments to reach my taste satisfaction.
This happens even with my favorite food and restaurant,it seems sometime their way of cooking is not consistent.
have a great day always dear sis and take care too

It depends on the restaurant I guess, if I do that on a secondary low class, they will never give me an exchange, unless it was unsanitize meaning with floating fly or insect in the drink.
I know these restaurants that you mentioned but I haven't tried them since I am not yet in the Philippines. Although I don't have any reasons to visit any Indian restaurants because I know how to prepare that lassi and other Indian foods since I am already staying here in India, and what I miss now are Italian foods and Western foods.
Again going back to the topic good that they treated you like a king/queen there. I haven't been satisfied yet on the restaurants I visited here, even if it was already three stars, the menu was still mediocre. If I have more budget, I will try five star restaurants and see if they do me the same treatment and write it on my blog, lolz!

hello strawberry,
I am sure why the management did not complain and even listened to us...
imagine a glass of lassi worth 120 pesos/rupees ,and don't satisfy me (hehehe)
We ended up paying 3 thousand pesos/rupees for how many orders?... 3 different kinds of menu good for 2 person
It's okay if I am rich,but I am not...hehehe.
i better try it next time to "SWAGAT" restaurant,my friends told me it's half cheaper there.
have a great weekend

replacement of orders have happened many times in my life. I have a replace my order only once online. Once I ordered a pen drive from eBay. I got it on time but was not working one. So I immediately contacted the seller and asked for replacement. I never thought that I will get the replacement since the seller has explicitly said that there will be no replacements. But to my luck he told me to send him the pen drive for replacement and I was worried whether I will get the replacement or not. After one week I got my replacement.I was very happy and I gave a positive feedback on his account.

Darn Indian Resto here is expensive then they will not satisfy me
But it is good because everytime I went there they know what taste I want, there is no harm in saying your complain as long as you are not being harsh (but sometimes I can't help not to be )

Hi jaiho :)
Yes. This has happened with me twice or thrice. But it was very easy to get it replaced: they were very friendly and agreeable. :) The only time I couldn't do anything about it was once when I ordered a burger at MacDonald's. It felt deliciously hot but it took me a bite to realise that it was actually cold. I was very disappointed when they even refused to warm it for me. I had to eat a cold burger that day :(
I'd like to add here that ours is a country (India) where the motto literally means: "Guests are God". So obviously, tradition dictates that we treat our guests with utmost respect and kindness, and we are taught to go out of our way to serve a guest. A guest's wish is nothing short of a command. More so, in culture-oriented restaurants, the management will do almost anything to keep their customers satisfied, and to see them off with a smile on their faces :)
What you have narrated here might have occurred due to change in the method of cooking, though there may be various other reasons too (negligence included).
Hope you enjoy savouring the Indian dishes!
And here's hoping that you find a reasonable Indian restaurant to satiate your taste buds. ;)
Enjoy! And have a good day!! :)

Yes,I like Indian foods only they have to lessen the spicy and lesser hot too.
Indian restaurant here in our country are bit costly, but it's worth trying for and the crew and management are really friendly as well, that they made us feel homely.
Thanks for appreciating my topics and hope to see you again writing your comments to my other topics.
have a good day and welcome to mylot
