how often do you post new discussions in mylot?

I am subscribed to mylot's weekly digest and unfortunately since I am busy with work during the day and I spend time with my hubby the rest of the day - I do not usually get the chance to either post a new discussion or respond to some discussions in my weekly digest.
Because of this, I lose my momentum in expecting a cash out! I think I have been a member already for almost two years and my cash out is still zero.
Any advise out there my fellow mylotters?

The last discussion I posted was many months ago. I honestly find that it takes all my time giving good quality responses to suitable discussions and is certainly less trouble because a good discussion must be maintained if it is to be worth anything at all (both in terms of earning money and of quality).
Posting a discussion topic is one thing but it will be worth hardly anything at all unless you turn it into a discussion by replying to the people who respond. A good discussion is like a good conversation: you must have plenty to say on the subject and on other people's opinions, otherwise it doesn't go anywhere (and, in MyLot's terms, will earn you virtually nothing!)
I do read the Daily Digest but I find far more discussions of interest by looking through the 'New' discussions, the 'My Interests', the 'Recent' and 'Friends started' tabs.
My incentive in using MyLot is NOT the earnings (though, of course, it's nice to see them add up). I am here because I love writing and discussing topics of interest with other people.

Hi there,
What I normally suggest to members who are limited with time, is to participate in others discussions with descriptive and helpful responses. This will take pressure off of creating discussions and tending to the responses. As you know thee is no time constraints here on myLot therefore, returning to older discussion to comment is okay.
As you know that the more you participate the more you earn. I for one do not start many discussions at all. I don't think I have started more then 70 to date and earn well over the cash out monthly.
I hope this can help and you can cash out sometime soon.

Really? I don't think I have made a lot of discussions myself because I find it hard to think or establish a topic to talk about since I am always busy or I try to be! :p
I did not really think that I should express myself more during discussions. I thought it was just a question and answer but a short answer will do. Now, I know!
You get to have a payout monthly? That is cool! I hope to do the same!
Thanks for the information, hardworkinggurl

Very good that you are continueing to stay active in the myLot community. Well, the more time and effort you can devote to placing postings and responding to postings, the more you will earn. I joined myLot about four years ago, and have been enjoying staying active responding to postings. In fact, I do not get to place postings too often, just when some special thoughts crop up in my mind.

hi greenline! I am still struggling to maintain my presence here in mylot but I guess I do see improvements in my earnings so I am headed to the right direction! :)
Time is I guess the key to everything and you are right that I need to invest some time here in mylot so that I can (finally) cash out!
I do have a friend who was able to cash out a couple of times so let's just say that I am not losing hope on that front!
Thanks again for commenting! Hope to see more of you in the future.

I can't believe you've been in this system for two years but have never received any payout. Perhaps you need to read the guidelines well in order to see what wrong you're doing.
However, if you're busy with your job, then that's fine because no amount in mylot earning could ever reach the earning from your job anyways.
Perhaps you should try to be more descriptive with the way you interact or answer discussions. Remember that you're not earning with the discussions you open, but you earn with the responses you do. The more responses, and the more descriptive they are, the higher you are paid. Which is actually why I'd rather just answer or respond to discussions rather than opening them.
Have a great myLot experience ahead!

I guess you are right :( What I have grasp in earning money in mylot is if you post discussions and respond!
I didn't know that your response should be long and descriptive. Thanks for the tip.
I guess you can say that i have been on and off with mylot because I also maintain a blog and what do you know when I bought my first apple merchandise, I just cannot be away from it!
I was hoping that someone would be kind enough to build an app about mylot so that I can also benefit from it! :p
Thanks again Laydee. So how many times were you able to cash out (if you don't mind me asking)?

hi friend,
i have not started many discussions. the one i started is when i feel to ask that. that is, i only start discussion if i feel to, only if i mind tells to. it is the same way in responding also. sometimes i dont feel to say something, so i will just stop mylotting. i respond here only when my mind is good.

Oh dear you really need to be active here to earn. You need to take out some time from your schedule to respond or start your discussion.
Try it & with time you will enjoy here and automatically you will find discussions of you interest & you surely will respond to them.
There are other things too which can earn you like tasks, blogs. You can make referrals too if you don't have much time and referral may do work for you.
Hope i will see more often from today onwards.

Hi there! Thanks for the advise and the response.
I did try doing the tasks but I just could not figure out how to do it. I attempted to respond and do the tasks but I did not get any credit for it. So I am not sure why and unfortunately do not have the time to read through it... one of these days probably.
I am subscribed to a few interests and hobbies --- need to make sure to least respond to one of the discussions once a day.
Blogs? can you tell me more about that?
I will try to be more active.
Thanks!
