Do you...

...Sit down and savor what you eat? Or do you wolf it down? Do you eat while you're watching TV or doing something online (i.e. Mylotting or Facebooking or chatting)?
Personally, I sit down and relish and savor my food if I want to pamper myself. But if I'm in a hurry and it's just the usual food, I would eat while watching TV or being online.
How about you? How do you prefer to eat? :)

There are times when I savor what I eat, especially if I have time. More often that not, though, I just munch 'em all out.

Haha, oh okay. :) To each his own, I guess. :)
I love the drinkable cereals because some of them taste great and it's really just convenient. :)
But then again, to each his own. :) Thanks for replying!

Hahaha! Yes, munching em all out -- that's what most of us do, right? :) Personally, I do that whenever I have zero time -- which is a lot of the time. But lately, even though I'm hurrying, I have only 1 to 2 meals a day, and the rest are drinkables like oatmeal drinks and stuff, so I take time to savor it. But, this is what we all have to do in this very busy lifestyle!

I try to avoid heated cereals. There several occasions when I had a bad stomach with those. I eat regular cereals, the ones you eat every morning, because they're great to eat, but the drinkables? I'd rather have a soda.

I relish every bite. Whatever I may be eating. So I don;t do anything when I am eating. And I don't eat in hurry either. I prefere to wait even if I am hungry I I don;t have time to eat.

Wow, good for you. :) Why do you do that, by the way? Just curious. :)

Thanks to my mother and my wife, who are great cooks, I developed taste for good food and the associated enjoyment. I am just continuing that habit. And I have found that eatining leisurely gives much more satisfaction even if it is a simple food than eating in a hurry.

True, I guess it's the experience of relishing the food that makes it more pleasurable. Thanks for answering! :)

it depends on the time. at breakfast and lunch time, i have to eat in less time so i have no time to even watch tv. i have to eat faster so i can get to work earlier. but at night, i can eat with enough time and even watch tv at the same time.

Haha, eating + watching TV. I always turn off the TV when the boyfriend and I have our meals together. I'm so annoyed when he's distracted from the meal and from our conversations thanks to the TV. I have no TV nowadays (well, he gave me a mini-TV but I still have to find a 6V Adapter for it), but it helps coz our meals are better lately. :p

Haha! Well, I think it's okay to do at times, but not all the time. :) Yes, if it's a habit, then it really is a bad habit. :)
Dessert and Chinese food! Nice! I love dessert and Chinese food too. :)
Thanks for responding! :)

Just like you , i would prefer to sit down and eat. That way, i get to relish what i am eating.
I can eat also while eating, but it seems that i don't get to relish the food i am eating. I tend to hurry my eating, just to be able to concentrate on what i am watching. However, i can eat finger foods well while i watch TV. ,

Ahh yes. I really like following my shows, too. But I find that if I eat those mixed-rice meals, or stir-fry noodles, I can still watch my shows. Though, since stir-fry noodles are my absolute fave, I usually stop and savor them. :)

It depedns on the situation. During the past few days, i have been stressed out to the max so I try to multitask everything, even eating. I get irritable when somebody interrupts me due to my constant fear that I might not make the deadline. I usually eat when I work (hence, my term of working meal), in order to keep me focused on the work and the same time, receive some sustenance for my body. Though it is not my prefer ed way of eating, it must do becuase time is kicking.
However, I usually savor my meal when I am not stressed or with friends. It is usually my reward for myself for a s good job done and try to really taste the food before me. I still keep in mind that food is a grace and a gift from those who provide for me and God, in a sense, it should be respected and every meal, in my opinion, should be an experience.

Wow, I like that you call food a grace from God and that it should be respected. It's how we Filipinos have been taught for so long. :)
As for not wanting interruptions when you're working, haha! Yeah, that's normal for busy people.
Question: When you work + eat, do you prefer those mixed-rice meals and stir-fry noodles so it's easier to eat? I find that stir-fry and mixed-rice meals are easier to wolf down when in a hurry. :)

I wolf mine down....I don't like to take time to eat as I always have so much to do...but if I go out for supper or to a nice restaurant then I like to take my time. We are geared up to not take alot of time from when we are little until we retire..at school there is a set time....at work too. It's hard to break the habit!

True that! There's gotta be a better way to live! I'm hoping someday I can have three whole meals sit-down and savored to the full, day in and day out. :) Above and beyond being able to read what I want, spend time with whomever I want to, among other pleasures in life.
Thanks for answering, Jill! :)

While sitting in front of a computer, I some times drink a cup of coffee or a glass of fruit juice. That is more to relax than to have a meal. As far as possible, I keep it strictly on time for lunch and dinner, and that's at my favorite restaurants.

Wow. Such discipline. :) Me, at the rate my life is going at the moment, it's all about packing several things at once. So I'm getting used to ramen, "fried" instant noodles, and even rice meals in front of the computer, heheh! Thanks for sharing!

I try never to eat while I am online as I do like to sit and savor my food. Plus I do try to be conscious as to how much I consume in one sitting and doing so while online will not allow me to watch how fast and or how much I eat. So out of habit I take time away from the computer to enjoy all of my meals.

That's one really great idea. :) I do realize that when we multitask when eating, we won't feel satiated and overeating is one bad result.
