Why Aren't Bare-Basics Videos (Pic w/ BackGround-Sound) More-Popular on YouTube?

I think it's because people want to watch more 'TV with the Interactivity YouTube Adds' (rather than caring anything about 'actual people who use the Internet').
That is to say, it seems like 'You'Tube is becoming more-and-more 'Ideal Fantasy'Tube and less-and-less 'Your Real Life'Tube.
Maybe this is just me being the 'old fuddy-duddy' I've been my whole life (highly-influenced by Dana Carvey's "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" Grumpy Old Man), but 'Back in my day, the closest thing you had to online videos was a two-step system: 1) checkin` your email, and 2) going outside and "walkin` around, lookin` around."'
My point is, 'REAL PEOPLE' (the ones that are supposed to be the 'You' in YouTube) ... do not own studios, want all their friends to worry about their problems, aren't in a rush to impress anyone nerdy/rich enough to be wasting their time watching YouTube, ... and WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LIKED IT!
I'm starting THIS campaign to resurrect the original spirit of YouTube, the spirit of 'the communications techie' ... the primary 'You' in YouTube.
What else can I do but make this idea known (both here and on my channel), using my normal old computer? Anything?

Odd; that culture so-praises heroes, yet seeks not to become more-like them (as that means taking on more stress than you need to).

You mean a video with nothing but an ugly pixelated picture and either someone ranting in the background or some stolen copyrighted music? Because they're boring. Duh.
And there are already people who have tried to start campaigns for "the old" Youtube... I bet you could find more of them without any problem. But obviously the campaigns haven't caught on.
Personally I have no problem with people who own studios having popular (or as most of my favorite channels go, not-so popular) YouTube channels.. in fact, I LOVE it when studios have YouTube channels. I love being able to find all sorts of indie, amateur, and fellow student filmmakers on YouTube. And people who own studios, or just plain better equipment and resources ARE REAL PEOPLE. They shouldn't be automatically disqualified from the title just cause they can actually make good videos.

I don't see why they should, and I bet they don't either.

Because the power of a nation/world/state is in its common people.

I guess it's just some sort of legend I have in my head about technology 'leveling the playing-field,' but I guess technology DOESN'T grant us immunity to humanity's lazy love of 'people whose friends grant them position.'

because people are more interested in using youtube to watch official and unofficial tv and music clips rather than boring homevideo that most other people won't be interested in. (but that sort of clip is still on there, you just have to look harder for it)

You can but to be honest I think many will not appreciate the ole ways. People today want all the whistles and bells so they can interact and sort of engage in what they are seeing. With so many competitors out today, I think it would not go over well.
But in order for it to work, it has to have some type of excitement in it as you know many today like all the new techy type ways.

What type of excitement can I add? The chance to hear the amazing voice of the Ghost in the machine?

Sadly people want excitement and home videos for some reason are not popular anymore. Well you know the trend today, if it does not involve violence for some odd reason people just do not show much interest in good videos anymore.

So, more angry rants ... maybe with audio of me 'slamming things' (mostly my head into the wall)?
