Brasil is out!!!

Just finished watching another very strange match of this very strange Copa América. For the quarters, Brasil lost against Paraguay on penalties after a hard match with a supplementary time. Brasil dominated most of the time but the Paraguay defenses hold them up, and their goalkeeper Villar was the hero. What most surprised me is that all 4 penalties from Brasil were missed (and they are known for beign very precise). Funny is that Paraguay has reached semifinals without winning a single match, they draw three times on first stage and this one on quarters too. So now, after the elimination of both Argentina and Brasil, who will win the cup? The two great candidates are now out (in a very similar way by the way) and now the biggest teams are Uruguay and Paraguay. For sure no one would have guessed such semifinals.

I have seen the game and I have to say that Villar was amazing, the save he has pulled off against Pato was world class. As for the penalties, everybody could have seen that it was a problem with the spot and that caused so many misses from the spot. Now that Argentina, Brazil and Chile is out, I think Uruguay will win it, as they are a solid team and have no real rivals anymore. Peru is also a surprising team, but I guess the Urus are better and will go all the way.

Yes, it is a shame for a team like Brasil to blame only the field, but they were very unlucky in this game. I think the main reason is that they were not a real team, just a bunch of stars, with the newest cocky player Neymar and the older ones like Robinho. This are egoistic, self centered players, which have lots of talent, but are not team players.

yeah,it was awful!! its incredible that the brazilian players missed all the penalty kicks, and they were very unlucky during regular time in my opinion, since they played so well. Now i believe, and will cheer for uruguay to win.

It was a good match too, and Brazil can won it many times, but the goalkeeper was great too, as well as the defense of Paraguay. The penalties are mostly luck, but that time Brazil seemed to be particularly uninspired. My now favorite team will be Venezuela, the great revelation!! But anyway I think the final will be Uruguay-Paraguay.

I agree with you. Finally, Brazil's team was playing a good game, but this time they didn't had any luck, because they lost so many incredible chances.

I think Brazil played quite well for most of the game. They simply did not have the finish. There were about 3-4 goal line clearances and most of the game was played in the Paraguayan half. But if you do not take your chances, you need to pay for them. And Brazil paid heavily for them getting dumped out via the penalties!! Cheers! Ram

iam happy when hear that brazil is out from copa america and it can shut pele mouth... neymar is not better than messi... brazil need a player like dunga which had a full determinations and off course miss a player like ronaldo, which can score from impossible things argentina need a playmaker like riquelme which can distribute a ball for messi and tevez. pastore is not mature and off course is below than riquelme standards...dont push messi act like riquelme...messi is messi and off course his best place is forward not attacking midfielder

I don't agree with you. I can guarantee to you that brazilians prefer 1 Neymar than 10 Dungas. We don't like the ugly football, Dunga is always pissed because brazilians always remember the 82 World Cup team (that did not won the title) than the 94 World Cup team (that won the title and had Dunga as the captain of the team). But, I have sure that we all miss Ronaldo, if we still have a player like Ronaldo, we definitely would not lose that much goals that the actual team is losing.

This is an incredible edition of Copa America;I don't know when it happened before that neither Argentina, nor Brazil reached the semifinals,I guess it happened a very long time ago,but I guess there are some explanations for their failure;many of their players think more of their clubs and the season which comes in Europe and don't play with enough concentration for their national teams.Anyway, both Uruguay and Paraguay confirmed the good impression they produced at the World Cup and they are the obvious favorites to reach the final, but it's been such a hallucinating tournament that I wouldn't be so surprised if Venezuela lifted the trophy!

Paraguay did not won from Venezuela on the stage group, so, it was not going to be a surprise if Venezuela win of Paraguay with their ugly defensive football.

Chile played a lot better than Venezuela yesterday, but like Brazil's match, the best team did not win. Unfortunately, this can happen on football.

Time can change anything, we all have to put salute to the time. Brazil is ruling the foot ball world. Now it is the temporary end to the kings.......... of soccer.

The result of this match was so unfair, I hate when the team that did not make anything during the 90 minutes win the game. I think that Paraguay only had 2 chances of goal during the whole match and they were not even good chances. The field was really bad because of the sand, but that's no excuse to miss the 4 penalties. Now, I'm rooting for Uruguay. But not too much, I just don't want that Paraguay or Venezuela win this title.
