Some people dont want to take tea before brushing or bathing. Generally ladies like my mother in law and my mother both not take tea before bathing. I can take tea before bathing but not before brushing.
Some people takes tea before bathing even before brushing on the bed. I think this is not good because our mouth is not fresh. All germs are in our mouth and after taking tea all germs are still inside the mouth.
Share your valuable and experienced views you are also taking tea before brushing or after bathing. Really this is harmful for body if everyday taking tea before brushing.

Bed tea and all that drinks before bed are not good for the health.Yes the germs enter the stomach and we can get some problems with it.So its better clean and then take anything inside so that we dont fall ill for small small things.
Many do drink bed tea and coffee but it is because they have the resistance to bear all that and get used to such things. So its their habit which tells them to do so.
Brushing , and then eating something is a good habit which can keep us away from may illness.

Hi Surekha
Each morning I drink decaffeinated coffee. While the pot is brewing I immediately brush my teeth. As you I feel it is best to freshen my breath and mouth before, I drink my coffee and have my meal. I also brush after my meal too.
Shortly before, going to bed I always brush my teeth too as I feel that during the night it is best as bacteria accumulates in the mouth as we sleep so having any food particles there would not be healthy for me. I have been this way my entire adult life.

Hi friend.. To say honestly i was taking a coffee without brushing.. Not now, It was about 5 years back.. But now a days and all i brush my teeth perfectly and then only i have my coffee.. Yes you are correct that germs will be inside of mouth and it affects our health in future. That too now i am not a kid. I think i was grown.. So i should not behave like a kid.. Also 3 weeks back i was taken coffee without brushing and also i shared it to my colleague, she was advised me to don't have anything inside without brushing.. I also know that its a harmful thing to our health.. But i was in an emergency situation.. So i did it.. Also i decided to don't take coffee or any other food stuff inside without brushing even in any critical situation and also i am following it correctly..
friend...You too don't take anything inside without brushing your teeth.. Its really harmful for our health..

Surely that's wrong? Brushing your teeth AFTER drinking tea has to be a lot better than brushing before, since the whole point of brushing your teeth is to clean them. Modern toothpaste is far more advanced than it used to be, as well, and protects for longer periods.
I assume you're talking about drinking tea immediately before brushing your teeth: in that case, yes, the brushing will be less effective because there will be some residue left from the tea (though if you brush properly, it shouldn't be significant).
To be honest, a cup of tea's not going to make a significant difference to your teeth anyway, especially if you're a regular brusher.

Yes friend modern tootpaste is very active but I think not protects long time because if I am not doing brush one day then smell is coming for my mouth. So regular brush is necessary thanks for sharing your nice view.

Hi dear,
Even I don't like to have any intake before brushing in the morning. In fact, brushing is the 1st job what I do once I get up from the sleep. However, contradictory to it, I have read several times that and people used to say that take a glass of water once we get up even before brushing the teeth. It is a fact and people from various levels used to say this way and I never find why it is said that drinking of water (1 or 2 glass) for good health and better body conditions. Though I used to drink water accordingly, in whatever circumstances, I prefer to drink only after brush up my teeth. Hope this is the ideal and satisfactory way of doing as long as we are aware of its consequences.
Thank-s

hi surekharathi
I am in habit of take tea before brush. But it's not good for health . Mount, threshold of our body, must clean before eating or drinking any thing. I think If we brush before going to bed on night and then we take tea or cofee before brush, in morning, then it's OK. what do think.

Hello Surekha,
I like to have bed tea but could not get that because my wife wakes up late till that time i brush my teeth. But i don't seem there is anything bad if you have a tea before brushing your teeth.
In my opinion it does not matter if you eat anything before brushing your teeth in the morning but it is important not to eat after brushing at night..

Hi surekha,
I agree with you.
My mom and dad generally take tea before brushing. But I generally take tea after brushing my teeth, it gives me the whole pleasure the tea gives to my mind, because i feel that maybe if we drink before brushing, the germs may get swallowed or something like that. So, its better taking tea after brushing, after all, we can enjoy the morning tea germfree!! :-P

Brushing after drinking a cup of tea is not good. It actually ruins our beautiful smile. We should leave one hour before brushing our teeth after taking tea. Before I was used to brushing after drinking tea. But now, I discipline myself so that I would preserve my teeth and so that it will last.

hi surekharahi I know tea does stain some peoples teeth but its a pure liquid no particles in it so i do not understand this thing about its wrong to take tea before brushing your teeth. I would think that after drinking or eating meals is t he time to brush your teeth. Not before whats to be gained by doing that. Is this an Indian custom as I am not trying to be rude here? I just do my brushing differently I brush at bedtime and wehn getting up. Otherwise I have no spare time to brush fifteen times a day. that gets sort of silly.and i do not drink a lot of tea. I do drink coffee and when I can I brush after meals but always i do at bedtime and when getting up.

Ohhhh dear friend no one can do 15 time brush in a day it is impossible because not work is more and time is less you not read my discussion if god give us 48 hours in a day because I need more time. You are right at least two time in the morning and in the night brush is must. Yes this is true this is mostly Indian custom first brush and then tea or coffee. But I think this is best because full night germ are gathered in our mouth and so cleanness is necessary but I know different people different choice. Thanks for participating my discussion.

I brush my teeth as soon as I get my kids awake in the morning. I can't stand to be sitting there with some funky morning breath in my mouth. It helps to make my coffee more enjoyable by removing bad germs from the taste buds. I get what people mean by toothpaste making the drink taste funny. That's why you got to make sure the mouth is rinsed very thoroughly.

Great friend good habit I also do the same. But the different is no child. You are right after removing germs everybody should take the tea or coffee. Without brush is not good. Thanks for sharing your view.

I think it is healthier to brush our mouth first thing in the morning. It is after we have brushed our mouth and kept it clean then it is ideal to take tea or any food you want to eat. The mouth is full of germs and tiny bacteria that we can not see with our eyes. So eating food or drinking tea before brushing is not good because it does not make a good health sense. Most people do it out of ignorance and they feel it does not pose any health threat but in the long run this risk gather and gather till it makes us go sick.
I just hopes those early eaters and drinkers are reading my contribution and they will change for the better. Have a great day!

This is a very important topic that is discussed for ages. Yes. It all depends on the way we are brought up. My parents taught me that I should brush my teeth before taking morning coffee. I do so. But some families they take bed coffee or bed tea and then brush teeth. I will certainly recommend brushing teeth before taking tea or coffee in the morning. thanks for starting a good topic.

Actually having tea before brush is fine. It is not at all bad to have tea before or after brush, because a tea without milk is so very good to our teeth as well as brushing. So the point is having a cup of tea after or before brushing makes no difference. But I'd rather prefer to have a cup of tea before going to toilet. Because it makes our digestion more flexible. Remember it also work with water.

Ohh our teeth is not clean dirty in whole night then how good take tea before cleaning it. This is also a good point if taking tea before going toilet means good pressure.

These days it has become a fashion or we can called it a habit that people take tea before bath or brushing. When i was a young boy in my 9/10th i really didn't know what was called bed tea. When i was a student and i was in a hostel i went to spend a weeks summer holiday with a friend.I was surprised to to see when whole lot of their family members taking tea as soon as they jumped out of their bed.The elders were served in bed.Only then i came to know about bed tea.But really as how Surekharathi has mentioned,it is really very unhygenic to have anything before washing our mouth and at least just not in bed as soon as we wake up.So I think we can call this unusual style a bad tea.
