It is said that "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." If you compare the nutrients present in 100 grams of raw coconut meat to 100 grams of raw apple with skin, you will find that coconut meat gives almost 7 times the Energy that an apple gives, more Carbohydrates than from apple, almost 4 times the Dietary Fiber, 197 times Fat, 12 times Protein, more Riboflavin (B2), 6 times Niacin, 5 times Pantothenic Acid, more Vit B6, almost 9 times Folate (B9), almost twice Calcium, more than 20 times Iron, 5 times Magnesium, more that 10 times Phosphorus, and almost 3 times Zinc. The coconut also has 356 mg of Potassium while the apple has none. On the other hand, apple beats coconut in Sugars (almost twice), Thiamine or B1 (almost thrice), and Vit. C (it has a little bit more). If coconut water is included, it will contribute Energy, Carbohydrates, Protein, Fat, Dietary Fiber, Folates, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine, Riboflavin, Thiamine, Vitamin C, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, and Zinc. All these data can be found in the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Nutrient Database, as cited in Wikipedia. Do you think it's more apt to say "A coconut a day keeps the doctor away?"

Hi there! I think its pretty much appropriate to say "a coconut a day keeps the doctor away". Since you have said before that coconut have a lot of nutrients than apple. Some are also saying that coconut is a tree of life because, all its part from roots to fruits have important benefits. I think Filipinos are lucky because there are a lot of coconuts out there.

Thank you very much for your comments, Friend Gidz0518. I thought this was not sent earlier. Actually I sent another one just a few minutes ago. My control of technology is really very derisory. Anyway, the other posting has more details.
