So I am leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow for a little under a week (to celebrate my 21st birthday). My sister is traveling with me and we are meeting a few friends out there later that week. It's gonna be a blast (hopefully). I realized yesterday that it's coming up so fast. I literally did not eat until 8 PM yesterday and tossed and turned until about 2 AM in anticipation. Have you ever been this anxious about something, that you can't eat or sleep?!

Hi maezeee, First of a Very Happy Birthday to you. I remember, in my child hood if my parents told me about a journey or visit to some special place on vacation, I felt the same way like you. I will wake up so early to get ready without the call of my mother. Now I have traveled enough and no such excitements on my way. Enjoy your day with your sister and friends. Best wishes.

I realize that by time I post this, you have not been back yet. I hope you have had a great time. I was in Vegas last year, and I could definitely say that it was an interesting town! I just launched a business not two weeks ago. And over this long process of getting it online, I've been so really anxious. I can't seem to get enough of worrying for every little detail.

I think this is one of normal feeling when we are excited. I also felt the same when i am expecting something or someone or going to travel to a place that i've never been. Even with expecting a special gift from someone we love, makes me feel excited that i can't sleep waiting for it. Enjoy your travel and wish you a Happy Birthday

Yes. When i'm too excited to go somewhere i can't seem to eat or sleep at all. I guess it's just normal to be too anxious but it's not good of course. But it doesn't happen often anyway. The worst thing i've had experience about anxiety attack caused diarrhea. I was in law school and in one of our subjects which was Obligations and Contracts our professor was really really strict and had been terrorizing students for years. Nobody in his class felt confident and there were 24 in his class but it was announced that only 8 passed his subject. I couldn't afford to fail and go back. I was too anxious that i had diarrhea for a week before the grades were released. Thank God i got more than a passing grade.

How exciting! Have fun but be safe! Vegas is a fun place. I used to be like that before Christmas as a kid and I am always like that when starting a new job, because of nerves.

I think Las Vegas is the most exciting place to spend your 21st birthday. Wow! I remember the excitement aged 20 years old departing on my trip around the world. My sister came with me to Los Angeles and we had a lovely time. Then as planned I continued my journey and my sister flew back home to England. Her flight went first and I had a few more hours waiting for mine. My flight was late in the evening to Honolulu in Hawaii. I arrived around 1 in the morning and stayed in a funny kind of place for a low price. I could hardly sleep with hearing a baby keep crying and dogs barking. I was so excited about traveling up to the North Shore the next day. I hope that you have a fantastic time in Las Vegas and have a wonderful celebration. My trip came to an end over one year later and it was exciting to be back after such a long time.

Oh wow that is a wonderful opportunity! I hope you enjoy it. I've tossed and turned in anticipation yes, but not over something like going to Las Vegas, that's wonderful! I hope you enjoy your time there and don't lose too much money to the slots!

You're so lucky, I wish I was doing something that amazing for my 21st birthday which is in a couple of months. I often get excited to the point that I can't eat, but I will rarely go for that long without any food at all. You need to keep your energy up, otherwise you're going to burn out before you even get to the airport! Try eating a banana or something as that has good energy inside it, or even some biscuits just to nibble on while you're getting everything ready for your holiday. I hope that you have a wonderful time.

I think I have similar experience one month ago. I went to Moutain View in CA to take an onsite job interview. In order to have a good performance, I went to sleep a little early(about 10:00 pm). But I couldn't fall asleep. Maybe I was too excited, or too anxious. After two hours struggling, I got up to see what was the time. "Oh, it's 0 o'clock, if I fall asleep now, I still have about 8 hours to sleep." ,I talked to myself. But I still couldn't fall sleep. For about every an hour, I checked the clock, and say same kind of thing to me.But I was still awake. And what made even worse is that I began to get worried that I could not do well on my interview because I did not sleep well. About 5 am, I did not give up trying to fall asleep, and I listened to the music and hope that could help me, but it didn't. Finally at 7 am, I gave up and accepted the fact that I didn't fall asleep the whole night. I took a shower and then went to breakfast, and I drunk two whole big cup of coffee to keep me clear.I've never had such kind of experience before.
