Monkeys as babies

You read it right. Couples in Canada are willing to buy baby monkeys and raise them like their own kids. They are willing to spend as much as $1000 to $6500 for a baby monkey.
Why ...I mean why monkeys?Maybe because monkeys have similar features with humans than any animal on this earth.I have nothing to say against this idea, but I would still prefer a dog for a pet , and a pet for me is like a baby too.
What can u say about this...?

I have nothing against animals but monkeys as babies??? cmon. there are sooooooo many orphan in this world who needs home, who needs parents to feed them, takes care of them and they would spend fortune on a monkey who cannot even talk back.. or even tell them "i love you" and can even bite! this is too much.
but its not poisonous or something!

There a nutters with more money than sense all over - not just in Canada. Though they do seem to have more than their fair share ...! Just kidding!
