Sunburned Lips ...

Believe it or not my lips are sunburned. This has never, ever happened to me before and I don't know how to treat them. I have never worn lipstick, however I do and have used a chapstick ... At first I didn't know what was wrong with my lip, they were darker than they ordinarily were. Then they started to peel and a tiny blister formed. What treatment should I use to help my lips heal?

I think Carmex is a good option to you use on your lips, because it's good to dry lips. I always use the Kiss of Milk & Honey by Nivea, it's good because it's a very rich moisturizer for my lips.

I never heard of Carmex before, but as I said before I will be investigating all of these too see which might be the most effective! My lips look horrible, and I can't cover-up their appearance because I don't want to irritate them any more than they already are.

I have never had this happen to me, but after thinking about it, I think I know what I would do to treat them tonight at home. I would get honey and cover my lips--it soothes, draws moisture from the air, and has natural antibiotic properties. If you do not have any honey, make a paste of plain sugar and cooking oil to coat them with. Sugar also helps wounds to heal without scarring and the oil will be gentle. I would also make a glass of ice water and put a spoon in it. Every so often I would use the cold spoon across my lips to cool them. Your Ibuprofen will help some, but your lips are a very tender area. Did you sunburn anywhere else?
