What is the name of the sound effect that Jim Wood(Dishwalla's Keyboardist) used into the song Everylittle thing? It sounds like a delay that gradually changes it's Frequency from Low to High and also it's volume as well. It is clear after the bridge part of the song when the drums are out and only the vocals and the acoustic are present, including this effect. It is also kind of similar to the effect that is used on the song Goodbye Again by Vertical Horizon and also Collide from Dishwalla especially the Intro.

It sounds like a sequenced driven phase shifter, if it's a separate effect. More than likely though it is an inherant component of the program in his synthasaizer. I couldn't find out what he used for gear but it could be almost anything so there is no telling what he plays on. Probably software based synthesizers with a good midi controller set up, they're pretty much industry standard now.

Yes, you got a point here. There are lots of ways to get this sound whether it's coming from a synth or from a guitar. I tried using delay, flanger and wah pedal on my guitar before and it sounded a little bit similar but not quite. So i'm gonna check the phase shifter. and yeah there are lot's of software synths these days that gets the sound, in fact i'm using right now this tone2 gladiator 2 as a vsti on cubase and still looking for that sound effect. Thanks a lot for the info man. cheers

I found out that it's close to the step setting on the phase shifter that gives an arpegiated repeat along with the phase sweeping. Thanks a lot man it really helped
