Living with an annoying dog...or am I just crazy?

Thankfully the dog isn't mine, it's my uncles dog. But when I'm home, I'm always around the dog, and it just will not listen. Usually the dog is fine when it's just around me or someone else. But as soon as my uncle steps in the room, the dog just stops listening to EVERYONE, even my uncle.
He is constantly barking at nothing. A leaf could fall outside and he'll start barking and whining to be let outside. He will not settle down when you tell him to. If I tell him "go lay down" while we're eating, he'll whine and try to scoot closer to us.
I blame it all on my uncle, unfortunately. He does not discipline this dog at all. And when I or someone else in the family tries to tell the dog what to do, WE get yelled at and told to just "let him be."
It's really stressful and there isn't much I can do but separate myself from my uncle most of the time, which isn't a good solution because my uncle and I are pretty close.
Funny thing is, I love this dog, and I was the one who basically raised him from 7 weeks to 7 months old. After that, my uncle wanted to take over all the sudden, which wasn't really a big deal as he bought the dog so technically it's his. It just frustrates me that I trained the dog for 7 whole months, he was doing great, and then poof!! Down the drain it goes.
Ugh!! Just needed to vent this out. It's been going on for a while and I just can't take it. Is anyone else forced to live with an annoying dog? Are you able to just let it go, or does it really get under your skin like it does mine??

My friend has the same problem! This dog of hers goes crazy around other people. Its a small dog so it jumps from couch to couch barking and being over playful. My friend tries to tell the dog to stop but it keeps on and on and on.I love visiting my friend but the dog bothers me so much I have not been visitng her much any more .It play bites your toes and feet but it bites to hard.A lot of stuff goes on with this dog.It acts like its the king of the house...So I understand how you feel.

That sounds really annoying. But at least your friend TRIES to do something about it, even if it may not work lol! I love dogs, just can't stand when they act like they are the boss...what irks me even more is when people allow it! I mean..if their dog is like their child then why not give it some rules too?? Makes everyone happier, including the dog! :)
