I plantd this Autumn part of th seeds I got frm last Summer´s lettuce. I had not much hopes, but was willing to do an experimnt as we have mild Winters in our country.
In tis moment I´m proud to say that I at organic lettuce frm my garden every single day. I had the red lettuce that you could pick leaf by leaf so the plants are growing while I have my salads.

i think the seeds need a long time (a year or so) to die out .
for the lettuce u need to look out that the lettuce grown out and start making flowers and seeds , before thise happens the salade gets a acid tast butt a good hint is to plant one seed 1 day and 2 or 3 days later the next seed so when the first lettuce grows out the last seed planted still give's u salade and time to plant a new seed .
I will try to post a picture off my lettuce and pease when i understand how it needs to be done here ;)
thnx for your comment

I am prepared already to have lettuce of several kinds all year around. I planted several seeds the same day in a pot, but transplant four or five plant in ne day. The plants really start growing when they have enough room for their roots. I found this easier than to plant one seed a day.

I'm sorry to hear that! My lettuce (I also plant seeds) says it takes 7-10 days for seedlings to emerge, but I started them indoors and kept a plastic top on it (with a few holes in it), and it only took 3 days to sprout!! I was pretty impressed. The extra heat really helps. You just have to be careful not to overheat them which would kill the plants. That's why I keep it well ventilated and watered.
I've never planted radishes so I can't help you with that. However, I assume the same is needed; heat/sun and water! Give them a good amount of both and they should do well.
Good luck!

Six days is still really good. My seeds were started inside, sat in a window with a good amount of sun, got plenty of water and had the extra heat from the top. I was impressed that they grew so fast! I assume your temperatures are Celsius, so 15°C would be 59° Fahrenheit, 20° is 68°F... I would think they'd like warmer weather though, tomatoes certainly do!
I've had plants drown. :( It's a bummer to have to start all over again.

Different seeds have different time for them to sprout. Have you found out how long it takes for the lettuce to sprout? My search on the net says it takes about 7 days for lettuce to germinate. As regards radish you should let some of them flower and once they flower seeds will be formed after some time. You could let the plants die and collect the seeds.
