it`s surprises
this is a weird copa america that i had ever seen..
it makes many people amaze..
how come the "poor" team like venezuela and peru can shake all the worlds..
how come the 'great' teams like argentina and brazil play like a dumb team..
iam argentina fans, but i believe argentina play not good in this copa america..
so it`s not surprising for me when they can not be a winner in this events..

Copa America has really gone tizzy with upsets. Almost all four semis were upsets. Yesterday Uruguay beat Peru 2-0 to make the finals. Currently I think they are the favorites to lift the Copa America. As far as the favorite teams are concerned, I think Argentina has once again shown the inability to gel as a team and despite having superstars have come up croppers in a major tournament. All comparisons of Messi with Maradona has to stop till he starts taking Argentina to success in such tournaments. Brazil on the other hand did create great number of chances but the lack of a quality striker up front is hurting them!!
Cheers!

In my opinion, everyone think that Argentina's team is better than actually is. Ok, they have one of the best squad of attack players, but no one remember about their defense. It's awful!! They don't have a good goalkeeper for years and all the other defense players are not really trustable.

ya, argentina is superb in midfielder and forward position
but not in defender position and off course goalkeeper
they had no superb goalkeeper like brazil had....
burdisso like play alone because gabriel milito never play routine in spain league and make their corporation is difficult

It's like Chile coach said a few days ago, Venezuela 4-5 years ago, the only objective that they had was not to lose a match for many goals, but now the things are different. I still think Venezuela is not a good team, because they only stay in defense, so, you have to score fast against them otherwise the match can become difficult.

Hi adhyz: Even if I am Mexican I actually don't feel really interested on soccer but I have to tell you that for me the most important surprising moment of the Copa America 2011 was Venezuela. I mean, Venezuela is usually considered the worst soccer team in Latin America but they were totally different this year and they were probably better than Paraguay who defeated them on the semifinals.

I think that these competition shows once again that you need to have a good team, not good players who cannot form a team. I guess Argentina and Brazil are full of stars, but have no team spirit and that has cost them the knock out.

I don't like Brazil, ever since I started to love soccer.
I think they're too powerful that no other countries can beat them easily.
But, seeing the competition between the South American countries now, it much more fun! And it seems that everyone can beat Brazil now. :D
Well, congrats to the Uruguay, for winning their 15th trophies in this Copa America ^_^

right now there are no weakest teams in south america, in the past few years there have been an evolution in all of this teams, and in te Copa america 2011 you can see that, Venezuela is not one of the best teams but in the past few years with the farias era they have grown up a lot, even tough i really hate that guy, (im venezuelan), players like rondon, orozco, cichero, vizcarondo are steping up to the plate, and also Peru, in the last road to the world cup they end up in last place, and now they finish third in the cup, that shows improve.
