So I was at the Farmer's Market last weekend. I got there late so the selection was limited but one fellow was selling some kind of onion. I thought maybe they were leeks or shallots but he informed me they were Egyptian Walking Onions! These babies are amazing.
They have "babies" like my strawberries and spider plants do. I paid a dollar for a bunch of four onions and he made sure I got four "babies", as well. I have planted them and they are doing well. At least two have sprouted new growth and I am hopeful about the other two.
I had never heard of these onions before. Have you? I just feel so fortunate to have gotten them because now I can grow my own onions and save at the grocery store! Yay!

lol...Elic, you are so funny! I'm not really much of a gardener, either, but I found a wonderful device that saves me a lot of work. It's called my daughter!
Seriously, though, I got this three-tiered planter that I put in my yard and that is where I have my garden. It's like raised beds and the care is so easy. I don't really have to weed. I just water it when it needs and fertilize maybe every other year. I don't grow much but love having what I do grow.

lol...the way I have it arranged, my entire garden is in one corner and I still have plenty yard to spare. My yard isn't very big, either...I live in a trailer park. Also, I'm building a wall where my fence used to be and it will have plantings in it. (I use cinder blocks and put the soil in the holes in the cinder blocks. I can't wait to start using it to plant in.)

These are great! We got some starts from a friend this year and have them in various places around our farm. The really cool thing is how they "walk" - as the babies get bigger, they bend the adult plant over to one side and eventually detach a foot or so away from the parent plant to grow. Sometimes they have babies on them before they detach! They're a lot of fun to grow :)

Oh, now you have got me really excited! I can hardly wait for them to grow!
I am going to have to get more soil and planters for them to grow in...I use a lot of onions. Their flavor is a little different than the other onions, too...a little on the strong side but then strangely mild in a way, too.
I like to use the greens as well as the bulbs in my cooking. Do you?
