Late Show vs. The Tonight Show

I both love to watch these two American late night shows, I'm talking about David Letterman's "Late Show" and Jay Leno's "the Tonight Show". Here in the Philippines and during my free time, I watch it at 1 to 3pm in the afternoon on Talktv Channel. They're on the air for I think decades and they're both fun and hilarious to watch considering their age. Their shows both have millions of loyal followers for decades up to this very time and is still counting. For people who watch it too, do you have a "much favorite than the other" on the above-mentioned TV programs? which do you prefer to watch? then what's your favorite segment.. I've always been more of a Letterman fan than Leno. Jay is a decent enough talker, and can contribute to an interview well. But Letterman is the better stand up comedian to me. his opening monolog actually makes me laugh out loud. With Jay, I can usually see his punchlines coming a mile away. It's not like he isn't funny, but he doesn't go out of his way to be creative with his jokes most of the time.

I don't really watch either one. I'm not usually up that late. I guess I prefer Jay Leno because that is what my parents always watched. I love his headlines segment. Sometimes his jokes are kind of lame, especially lately, but some of his other segments are good so it rounds out.
