During these hackers have a side of the world that are considered negative by many parties. I myself did not know how to become a hackers. Until now, i'm still think that being a hacker is an act that is not good thing. But I'm interested in their abilities.
How do you think, whether good or even hackers bring disrepute to the internet world?

i think being a hacker like being a dictator... does it mean, when have enormous power and flexibility, the human tendency is to use it only for the benefits of himself... regardless of good or bad for others. I think so too does a hacker!

@fitriadi21: I have always believed that everything in this world has bad side and good side of it. There are always pros and contras in everything. Hackers, while they are considered as a negative part of computer world are actually useful in detecting the flaws we have in the system. The change that we needed is to change them from being a black hat hacker to a white one.
Perhaps in the later years I would become one, but be assure that I will be a white hat one. The earning is not that bad as well, isn't it?

I think it could be good to keep yourself out of harms way, but if a person intent on doing harm to another then NO it is no good. Hackers make things bad for others. Not to mention they themselves have a bad name. I don't know of one good thing they add to the internet community. If you know of any please by all means let me know.

Yikes in my mind when I think about hackers I think of evil bad doers who are out to steal information. As I read some of the responses I see that it has been useful for some agencies and or companies. Sadly, I have only heard of the bad sides when it comes to hackers.

Generally, I hate hackers. They are damaging lots of computers and systems.
But there is only one good aspect if somebody is a good hacker. He can intercept terrorist or criminal bands computers and information and so they could stop disasters from happening.

Hackers are like the Robin Hood of the Internet, they steal from the rich - well mostly information and this give it to the poor - the laymen of the Internet. Without these Robin Hoods, we would forever be clouded with misinformation coming from the big guys. Is it the right thing to do, certainly not, stealing is a crime but is it wrong? That depends on the one that's jugding them.

what Murdoch did was just wrong, those kind of hackers don't deserve to be mentioned, but hackers that play old games and figure systems to playing games,or codes their own programs from binaries, that's a good hacker.
A hacker that steals is inconsiderate, spends too much time meddling, don't care about anyone but themselves.

I'm personally very grateful that they exposed the total lack of even basic security at giants like Sony, who make billions every year but apparently don't care enough to protect the users (including myself) from a basic SQL injection attack on their databases!
I know never to trust these people with my personal info, until they have at least spent some of the money I have given them through sales to protect my details and identity from real 'hackers' and not just these guys who didn't even try and steal money from the details they obtained!
I love the corruption and racism that the Anon group have exposed (like in Arizona) and will be keeping an eye out on their press releases to see what else they reveal!
