World disarmament! How to do it ?

Friends,
How much money this world is spending on arms and ammunition. The same could be spent on eradicating poverty and helping poor. Every country is competing for its improvement WRT others. Why cant we maqke this world a better p[lace where we love and trust each other. What are the ways to achieve this where all countries come forward to trust each other and initiate disarmament for the benefit of mankind?

It's hard to do because there are too many different places to point out. Disarmament happens when that country wants to, not by force. If one has compassion and really cares, they still cannot change attitude or the world because there are too many individuals that have their own agendas and do what they want.
