Hey, lately or for a few weeks now, I have been doing some running, though I'm not that fat and not that healthy too, so I do run every week just for exercise too. I was wondering because I get hungry on an early run, is it okay to eat breakfast first. Or how about coffee or some light breakfast before running. Is that okay or should it be after running?
Thanks for your thoughts.

I think that's okay eating before jogging, but you need relax for a while to make sure your body absorb your pre-breakfast.my habit is having jogging first then breakfast.at least I will have 2 - 3 round jogging track then relax and breath in-out air.after that.. I'm ready for breakfast.

Sometimes when pressed with time like if my running buddy is already waiting for me, I eat fast and then run. But then moving forward what Im gonna do is eat and then rest first, then start runnning and then eat a lot after. Or my full breakfast will come after running.

When you begin a run, you should be in good condition. You should neither be hungry nor too full. Too heavy stomach though may lead to to cramping. Nevertheless, if you run with empty stomach you may not have enough energy to finish your exercise. So the best is take light meal at least one hour before jogging.
Fruits like banana would be a very good choice or if not satisfied you can add a slice of toasted bread with peanut butter. But never eat heavy food (see image below) as this could give you gastrointestinal problem while jogging.

I'm getting hungry right now, now that you mentioned those healthy foods here! :) Yup, moving forward I will be eating enough before running, not too much because it will give me stomach ache. Light meals and at least one hour beg=fore jogging. Got it!
Thanks for the tip!

Talking from experience, it depends on your response to food in your tummy. What I mean is if you have tried eating a little just before you run and get the energetic feeling , then it is fine. I myself mostly have about 1/5 of my meal before an evening run and it has been fine - then when I got back after the run I do the other 4/5 aprox and it's fine. Depends on your body response is what I say. Happy running, it is one of the best thing in the world !

I know running is one of the best activities in the world! It is easy and anyone can do it and you have at least exercise for a busy bee like me! And yeah I try to eat a little before running and then eat a lot after the run. Maybe I just need to rest a little first before running!
Thanks!

yes a light breakfast before jogging/exercise is ok. and actually i've heard it's a lot better and healthier than exercising on an empty stomach.

I've read an article somewhere that states that if you jog in the morning, it would be better to eat first since the food that you've eaten has probably digested, leaving you only a little fuel for your workout. Having a meal an hour or two before workout stabilizes your blood glucose and gives you energy.

I don't think that it's bad to eat before going for a run. However, I do know that you're supposed to wait 20 minutes, half hour before doing any physical activity like jogging. From what I know, it's not healthy, or at very least, not a great idea.
