1,090,739 words. 3,363 pages. 199 chapters. 17 hours and 14 minutes. 8 movies. 7 books. 1 story. HARRY POTTER. After ten years, the Harry Potter series have finally reached it's final conclusion. I have followed this sequel as a child. I've read all the books too. I can't help feeling quite sad now that it ended. It feels like a childhood friend is saying good bye to me. So I would like to say, DEAR HARRY POTTER, it's been a pleasure growing up with you. I'll miss you. How about you guys, do you also follow this series? Do you like it? Why and why not? Tell me your views or sentiments. I'd love to read it. Have a nice day.

I remember that when the Harry Potter craze first started and I had not even touched one book, I used to turn up my nose at the hype, feeling that it's after all just a fairy-tale. Even when the first movie was released and was earning rave reviews and breaking box office records all over the world, I was reluctant to go. My father was persuading me for days to watch the movie, but I was not interested. It was only when I watched the trailer that I felt that it may be something more than just a fairy tale. And so I consented to go. All this when I was just in the 8th standard. Then I watched the film, and it was love at first sight. The very next day, I made father buy the book and gobbled it up in a day or two!!! After that, I went on to buy the next three books, and because Order of the Phoenix had not been released yet, I just continued to read and re- read the first four!!! After that, for the last three books, I used to be be the first one at the book store in the morning on the day of the book release. I would queue up at 5 o' clock, hoping to get my hand on the book before anyone else does!!! I became an expert in Harry Potter trivia and no one could compare to me in school. But the movies didn't do much justice to my imaginations or in general, even keep up with the stories much. Now the movies are coming to an end, but for me, Harry Potter had ended with the Deathly Hallows book itself. I had felt real sad coming to the end of the story, knowing that there won't be any more parts for which I can look forward to. No more pleasant anticipation regarding what is going to be revealed in the next book, who is going to be killed, or what new allies will spring up. It was the end of the world of magic, a world where we ourselves attended the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and flew along on the broomstick with Harry, in pursuit of the golden snitch against the clear blue sky.

Wow. So you're an avid fan of the book. I haven't experienced queuing for the book. Hahah. I don't like waiting in line.
Well I agree that sometimes the book is better than the movie as when we read we imagine something different or grander than what we see on the movie. And there are times when there are parts of the book that are not shown in the movie.
Thanks for your post. Rated it :)

I did follow Harry Potter with all the books and the VCDs. I watched all the VCDs more than twice already. Whenever the movie was out I would queue to get the tickets. It's like I would not get enough of watching the movies... or reading the books... I haven't watched the last part of the book 7th....

Indonesia is having an issue with playing imported movies in the cinema. Indonesia wanted to tax it but the holywood association does not want it. So, we could not watch any imported new movies as off 4 months ago...
Watching it on internet is futile as well cause our connection is not stable.
I will wait for the released DVD or VCD...

You gotta watch it!!! You can do so in the internet. But I recommend you watch it in 3D at the cinema. It's the last movie anyway.. :)

I have really enjoyed reading the books and watching the movies. I've spent the last ten years reading the books, seeing the movies, and enjoying them. I will say that I am a little sad that it's all coming to an end, but that's the way things go, in life. That's just the way that it is.

Well yes indeed it is. At least we were lucky to have been a part of the HP era and we got to read it and watch it. It was a really good story. Thanks for the post. Rated
