Yes,I agree,Metallica is the most commercial metal band in the world.They are so famous that even if their last albums weren't as good as their first ones,which were true masterpieces,they still sold very well.They managed to achieve success without support from music radios and television in the eighties,but now they are the biggest name in metal from a commercial point of view.

This is unarguably true.
Since their "Master of Puppets" album they have had gained great support from the Mtv and the press and this helped them a lot. They still sell out nowadays and that's just one proof.
