I am not the neatest and tidiest person in the world. I mean come on what teenager is. But I also think that a lot of my unorganizedness is because I am an artist. I swear it's not just some excuse to get out of cleaning my room. I love cleaning my room it just never stays clean for a long period of time. Yesterday I did some googling. Like I searched "Are artists usually messy" and most of the results said yes. Fair enough. But I wanted to know why we are so unorganized. In my opinion it's just who we are. All about expressing ourselves. I took some test online yesterday to determine whether you are a right-minded thinker or a left-minded thinker. If you guessed I am a right-minded thinker then you are so correct. We right-minded thinkers tend to not be so organized as opposed to mathematical left-minded thinkers. I am a right-minded thinker and proud. Yes I'm a little messy even for a girl but it's who I am. It's not like I'm just flat out disgusting. I just don't worry too much about organizing. I work on my music, writing, acting, and drawings. So next time someone nags you about being messy take the test. And if you're like me then tell them it's just who you are and how your brain works but if you aren't you might be disgusting. So there you have it. Thanks for reading even though now you probably think that I'm not only right-minded but also maybe a little borderline psychotic. But it's all good. For me anyway. :)

it varies on the type of person not on what you do, i am an artist an i consider myself successful and paint and sculpted very often but i am not messy at all, all my friends are most artist and are not messy, but as you say people use the name to let go and not doing things, cause its beautiful when you design you place and feel comfortable around also if things all over make someone happy why not go for it, but being artist has nothing to do with it. see my work and i am not saying i am an artist just to say it http://www.wiguenarts.com/Home.html but being messy not my style.

Well i don't know I guess like I said before maybe that's also where being a teenager comes in to play. Or maybe you're thinking I should stop blaming it on what I am and start blaming it on who I am. Hmmmm? Well whatever you're thinking thanks for thinking it and thanks for commenting on my post.

well some of just don't like to be much and being a teenager can be part of it, as i say that can take over other stuff cause when you really have to do something its gonna be hard get use to it, cause trust me being an artist its not easy when you got work to give you gonna work hard sometimes spend nights wishing you could just don't do it

Finally, someone who understands me. Thanks for commenting. I am an artist and I am messy because I get get caught up in what I am doing. I couldn't have stated it any better myself.

I am an artist and in some ways I am messy, but the room when I paint and draw is not messy at all. I don't want to damage my drawings, it that might happen if the room was a mess. I am also careful when I am dealing with my paintings, I don't want to damage the canvasses, and when I finish a painting I place it on a shelf next to the other paintings. My paint brushes and my acrylics aren't messy either. I don't want to waste a lot of time lookíng for the right colour or the right paint brush and keeping things tidy helps me focus on my work.
In other situations I am a messy person. My desk, my closets, our living room etc are quite messy. When I am working on my art I sometimes forget everything else and keep on working instead of tidying up downstairs, and that is the reason why my house is often messy. Actually the room where I draw and paint is only room in house that is really tidy

Well, I guess I will need to see this test. I'm very good at math and I'm messy too. So I don't know if the test is accurate. I clean my home and in less than a day it look as if a tornado had hit. Fortunately, I don't live in an area that is prone to tornados. So I really don't have an excuse. I'm not an artist. I can't even draw a stick figure. I can play a clarinet. However, it's been so long since I played, I would think any song I tried to play would not sound normal. Best Wishes!

You haven't heard of right-minded and left-minded thinkers. There are several tests you can including tests that you can do by simply clasping your hands together. Whichever thumb goes over the other determines whether you're a right or left minded thinker. Thanks for responding:)

Like the person above me said, artists really vary. I'm messy when it comes to other things, but I usually like to keep all my drawings in one place to avoid losing them.
All traits and personalities vary. On a side note, it'd be cool to see a bit of art from you sometime.

Like I said before I guess it's just me,maybe. Whatever it is I am organized in my own terms. That is what I was trying to say. To everyone else my organized might be considered messy to them. Thanks for commenting. :)

Um I've studied Fine Arts in college and one of my art professors kept reminding us to keep our workspace neat and tidy so our productivity would flow. I think artists just like any other human beings come in different personality types. You can't say "I'm messy cause I'm an artist". That's like saying all artists should be messy people. I'm a fellow messy and right minded person too but I think it's just proper to keep tools and materials organize so that we wouldn't have to lose them and have a hassle of looking for them when we need them.
