I just went out for a second to get some diapers and wipes and on the way there It was a nice and HOT drive.
I did my shopping, by the time I got back on the road, I saw a car crash into another car, and it was a little scratch because both cars were big SUVs.
Now, a block away I saw ANOTHER crash, now this time It was more severe.
I am in the state of Maryland, and I see car crashes like this all the time!
Once I saw a car crash of 7 cars! How ridiculous is that!
I say that all of the Marylander's need to get some kind of driving course and some aggressive driving classes, cause that's how they are, and one of them is my boyfriends mom and my boyfriend (he just started driving) and that's how he is, if someone cuts him off he starts cussin, I just brush it off, I'm like Whatever!
I just hate it here, but hopefully I'm going back to Virginia where peoples KNOW how to drive!

That's just crazy! To think I'm going to be bicycling it out around people, I'm already nervous but going to do it anyway. I've seen a few crashes in one day as well and have had to wonder who taught them how to drive?

Hi Lxandra!
I wonder do they have driving license or they don't even one? If they don't have driving licenses yes, of course they need to take a course or driving class to avoid things like that happen again. That is why they need to take several tests before they can drive vehicles. If they do have license I think they need to go back to the driving class, learn and seat for the exams again because they already forgot what they have learned before. That is what my sister say everytime she saw road accidents or some road bullies.(^^)

I think traffic accident can happen easily if the driver is not careful all the time starting from he gets into the car because the traffic might be busy and the road is not well designed which will both increase the risk of traffic accident. Some people might find driving very difficult because they might have difficulty in multi-tasking and coordination of their body.

Driving standards seem to vary in different places around the world. Many road accidents happen in South Africa. They said a prayer on one coach journey I did to the Garden Route from Cape Town. The coach dropped me off at the petrol station. I waited ages for the guest house employee to collect me and my disabled son. I found an easier way to travel on the backpackers bus. It collected people from guest houses and backpacker hostels.
In Indonesia and Malaysia I saw lots of very fast and dangerous drivers. I had a badly injured leg when I fell down an open drain. I needed to find a slow and reliable taxi driver. I went in the front seat next to the taxi driver. My two friends sat on the back seat. The taxi driver went faster than I wanted. Luckily we arrived safely at the border of Singapore.
In my home country people have to pass a theory test and hazard perception test before taking their practical driving test. The practical driving test is very challenging to pass. Two reverse movements are required like back around a corner, turn in the road or reverse with a turn into a parking space. The standards are very high and faults are clocked up depending on things that happen. A serious or dangerous fault will mean failure. The pass rate is around 40%. A person tends to be nervous on the day of their practical driving test. There are rules of the road and drivers have to keep to them. Penalty points could go on the driving license and if a driver gets more than six he or she has to take an extended practical driving test to get back on the road.

I love this topic, do you know why? There are rules, and there is a yellow line and a white line. There are big red stop signs and signals that you can put on if you need something. Yes, individuals do need to learn how to drive. There's also a manual if they need to convert back to it....lol thank you.

Maybe the driving exams should be tightened up a bit more. Driving really is a serious matter because it can take a life if you don't know how to drive safely. People who wanna learn how to drive should go to a driving school that's well known for its credibility and not how many people passes their course.

Oh yes I know the feeling here too. Just yesterday I had to drive a ways on our expressway and could not understand why it was so packed at that time. Come to find that there was a really bad accident where supposedly someone was on their cell phone and jumped into the right lane without watching and bang several cars collided. Seems a lot of drivers today are not paying attention to the road.
I hope it is better for you in Virgina.

I've had an informal driving lesson. I think I got the idea of driving! But I'll never go out without supervision from a licensed driver. I think it's not that those who drive don't know how to, it's may just be that they don't care much of the law or the rules of the roads.
It always ends up to responsible driving. That's what we all need to make the roads safe.

That's ridiculous. Over the years I developed theories on why people are still considered "bad" even passing the test with the government. You have the normal bad drivers who should have never passed their test, and you have the drivers who "accurately" follow the rules, that they panic when a driver who doesn't follow the rules, popup out of nowhere. By panic I mean, they just get so surprised that here they are driving at speed limit, the reckless driver at 20 over the speed limit, that in the end the safe driver is the one who gets into an accident. I say this because, women and driving has that stereotype, that women shouldn't drive. But honestly, do you believe women are reckless? more reckless than man? I just believe that in the end, the woman got spooked and hit something during that "spooked" moment, which lead to the accident. But that's my theory, I could be very wrong. But to me, it just doesn't make sense that people are still bad, unless the government tests are too easy.
