Do you check out friend's page before accepting?

When you receive a friend request here on MyLot, do you automatically accept the request, or do you check out their page first?
I check out their page first. If I find they aren't posting and if I find there are a lot of ads on their page, I deny the request.
A recent example of this is where I received a friend's request from a woman and I went to her page to look at it. It was filled with ads wanting me to "click here". She hadn't been posting much here on MyLot. This told me right away I would probably end up getting bombarded with spam from this woman, so I denied her request.
How do you handle your friend requests?

I always check out the person before accepting a friend request. I look at the number of discussions started and responded to. I read some of these postings. I look at the number beside their name and their reputation, if they have one. We do not really know who people are in the physical world any longer (and maybe we never did). It does not change in the on line world. It is better to err on the side of caution. If I have any doubts, I don't accept or deny. I wait and I watch.

Since responding to your discussion, I accepted a new mylot friend. I did check out his profile first. I noticed he had a lot of links on his page but everything else seemed good. Almost immediately, I got private message from him sending me a referral link. I am going to take a wait and see attitude.

I usually accept friends request and personal message them a thank you. Everyone deserves a chance. There have been those that wanted to recruit me for some many making scheme but I just ignore them. I look at a friend request as another earning opportunity and perhaps more. I have yet to deny a friend request in over a year.

You sound like a very friendly person! :) I agree that everyone deserves a chance, that's why I check their page...I've accepted some friends requests in the past and got spammed like crazy. I'm glad to hear you've had nothing but positive experiences!
