Thunder is one of the natural loud sound produce after lighting which represents rain. Thunder also states wether youre near to lighting strike if you see a lighting then count in seconds until you will hear the thunder, if the thunder is in the 3rd second or less then your in danger but if it takes more time then your away from danger.
Many are afraid of the big loud drumming wild natural sound of thunder even I before would close my ears with my hands if I hear one but today I just ignore it and make fun of it, after hearing a story about the thunder that my uncle told, he said for me not to be afraid of thunder, I just have to remember or imagine that when I hear thunder its the sound that Gods are playing bowling in the sky and for me it works, everytime I hear a thunder I just imagine that the Gods are playing bowling that makes my fear into laughter or funny moment.

Yes thunder can sometime be funny when it's far away. I sometime like to count the seconds from the flash of the lightning to the thunder to see how far it is (for every second it's 340 meters farther away). Oh, and i love to watch the lightning strikes in the distance it is just sooo beautiful. I was never really afraid of it all but i know if it's really close and loud that you should take cover somewhere, preferably in a Faraday cage - house with a lightning shield or a car and if you're in the open just lay on the ground or crawl in a hole in the ground.
All in all i like rain and lightning, it's an experience for me, i enjoy it.

Oh thats cute! But i dont think its okay to think that god is just playing bowling thats why we are experiencing the thunder.
When its really really loud and scary, I cant even think of that way. Simply because, i think god will never ever do that just to scare us.

Hi!
I was told of that story, too! And it was specifically St. Peter who is playing bowling. It's really a funny thought good for those who are overly afraid of thunder. But loud thunders are really scary! It feels like they are just happening on top of the roof and the roof might break at any moment. A very bright lightning is also scary especially if you see it across the sky. It's a breathtaking view but scary, too. It's really a wonder how nature can produce these amazing phenomena.

Hiya resutaa,
When I was small I used to be scared of thunder too but not any more. I love the big crashes and the lightning as well. The lightning took me longer to get over but I did do it in the end.
Story I heard was similar to that as well I think they told me God was playing marbles or something to that effect.
When it was Raining it was all to do with Saint Peter although they never told me why either.
So I know your fear of thunder as well it takes time to get over I have known People who leave everything and go and hide and I respect their fear its only natural too.
Oddly enough my Kids have never been afraid of either I donĀ“t know why but they are not impressed by its power and strength at all it does not mean a thing to them.
I have often watched a big Storm way into the night and its very impressive to watch especially if its taking place over mountains like where we are.
Actually imagining a funny thing like that can help to make your fear much much smaller and the more you laugh the better.

I heard from stories that the thunder is caused due to fighting's between gods with a roar and all, even my self can ignore the sounds and go to sleep. And on next day in the newspaper their may be deaths caused by thunder, I never thought of it as a bowling, since its a serious issue, maybe there are fights among them, soemtimes i even feel like there is a roar in it. who knows.

I've heard it as Angels are bowling, and when it's raining then angels are crying. I am not afraid of thunder unless it is very very loud, then that is when I am afraid of it. I like the sound of thunder and of rain, but only when I know that my loved ones are safe will I relax and enjoy it.

Oh dear.. that's so cute and funny... I'm happy planet earth isn't the ball..
Well, if I hear thunder, what comes to my mind is "it's raining time..." Thunder is nature's way of giving us nitrogen. That's what scientists think. But what's important is it's essential for us to live..
