Some one may be rich, but he thinks he is poor. and he behaves like that. Some one is average but thinks he is genius and he actually behaves like that. Have you thought whatever be reality believing something makes very strong impact on us? I studied some book which tells if you strongly believe something it happens. So start believing your dreams and they will be reality. Do you think this really works and is scientific?

Wouldn't that be hallucinations? Yes, a person can believe what ever the hell he wants but that would be only on his mind. Making it happen and believing is a like miles apart. Strong belief alone won't get you far. And probably, the people around that individual would look at the person as either crazy or annoying, insisting on something that is not real.

YOu know When a child gets hurt and starts crying mother's hug gives him comfort. He then starts believing he is OK. Even if pain is there but but he feels that comfort. I think somehow it works to some level. Recent surveys have shown dummy medicines working on people who were told its very strong and powerful medicine. The key point here is believing not fooling yourself and thats not easy. Had they known medicines are dummy it was so difficult for them to believe it.

I get the placebo effect but I think that is different because they didn't know it was a dummy medicine. They didn't know so its not their own belief but someone else's assertion that its a real medicine. While on the subject of the kid, I do agree with you on that one, kids are really impressionable and easy to manipulate but will only work on some level depending on the situation.

I am agree with you. Though Placebo effect is due to someone else's assertion but that is what makes patient strongly believe in medicines. So you are agree that when patient believes it then it works and effect is proportional to his believe in medicine. It will definitely be very difficult for the patient to believe if he knows that the pills are dummy. Now we all know that a statue of Lord Jesus is not actually the Jesus. It is dummy. But somehow we make our self believe in it. And it works. We fell his blessings and his presence proportionally to our believe. Same way if we learn how to make our self strongly believe into our dreams our dreams will come true. I know that is not so easy. But I believe it is possible. What do you say?

Beliefs are important. What a person believes is often what a person becomes. Beliefs change your choices of action or no action. This will have a great impact on one's life. On the other hand, it will not change the parameters of your life set by God. Example; I might believe that I can be the president of the USA. I can work day and night toward that goal. The reality is that it will not happen because that isn't part of the parameters set for my life. I could never learn the lessons I need to learn being president. Life is about learning and growing. Each of us have different lessons to learn. The parameters and the people we interact with are set toward our learning not toward our wanting. Believe what you might. If you step off a tall building, you will fall regardless of your beliefs.

In a nutshell you want to say that beliefs are important but it will not change realities. What i feel is there are levels to which you can believe certain things. If you step off a tall building it is impossible in general for anyone to believe that he will not fall. Because we can not force ourselves to belief whatever we want. Beliefs comes from very deeper place inside of us. Our subconscious mind is the actual origin of it. What I Want to conclude that if some how you actually believe that you will not fall even after stepping off the building then you will actually not fall. Now the question is how do we reach to that level of believe ? Definitely we need to be able to control our subconscious mind. I understand it fells weird but i believe though very difficult but somehow it is possible. The great people Like Lord Jesus and Lord Buddha who could do miraculous act was because they had enough capabilities in them to believe without doubt that miracle will happen without fail.

Yes, to an extent. For example, say that a person, like your boss or parent, keeps calling you stupid and putting you down, you will be much more likely to screw up more and you will have a harder time answering questions and things like that. It's not to say that if you believe you can fly, you will start flying. But yes, attitudes and beliefs definitely make an impact on the world. In another example, a person who is very confident and thinks that they are great, will appear really great, attractive, etc to other people. Someone who is always putting themself down and whatnot, will seem like a loser to people.

Definitely you are right. There is extent to which we believe and certainly effect of it is proportional. I heard somewhere in bible It is written that Jesus say " If you believe in him and you say mountain to fly it will fly but there should not be any doubt in your mind." That is not so easy believing to that extent where we are 200% sure that if we say something it will happen. Ones one of Lord Jesus follower could walk on water believing in him on his commands but as soon as he started doubting he fell. This feels so miraculous. But in our history we have many such exceptional happenings.

Things down turn around completely just because you believe them to do so but you do start making efforts that takes you towards those things. If you believe you are good in something you start trying to find ways of utilizing your ability rather then trying to figure out way to get out of trouble if that situation is confronted. This does make a difference. I believe I'll be rich soon ... . Lets' see how that one goes!
