I have just submitted my first article to Associated Content. I first heard of this site on mylot along with several other freelance writing sites.
I have a question about the three options that were open to me in my submission. The first one was the one that allows Yahoo to own your submission. The second one was where I retain my rights and that is the one that I selected. I also chose options on payment and distribution. I chose outright payment as well the other method.
There was an additional link that was supposed to give me extra information for each option but I could not load the page. There was some kind of error.
Did I pick the best choice for myself? What would other mylotters who have used Associated Content and/or still do have suggested?
I probably should not get too excited yet. I do not even know if my article is going to be accepted. Many mylotters write of their success with Associated Content. Have any of you had articles rejected?

You took the same choices I always do. I like the upfront plus views option for payment. If you take the option for views only they will publish your work no matter what. But I think most of us would rather see quality. Plus you get paid more, which is most important of all.
I doubt very much they'd reject your article. If you can spell and use correct grammar, they'll take it.

Thanks for your feedback. I think that I wrote a good article but it was my first. I have no idea what to expect. Perhaps, it was not long enough.
I chose Option Two which seemed to give me all the benefits of Option One with extras. But there was also a third one which I did not look at very closely. it did not appeal to me.

I'll second RJlady's option choice. I'm non-US so can't get up-fronts (and don't use AC any more anyway) but it's the only way to make it worthwhile. Rev share alone won't bring in enough money to buy a bag of jellybeans. Personally, I think it's good to start writing online *with* editorial review, even if it's AC doing it - at least that way you're pushing yourself to a standard, rather than just publishing junk on a blog somewhere. Hope it works out for you!
(Oh, and re-publishing rights are always good to keep if you can - not sure how that ties in with up-fronts, though.)

I first heard of this site from other mylotters. I have only written and submitted my first two articles today. I do not yet know if I like it. It depends on acceptance of my articles and making money from AC.
Many mylotters write for this site. And are happy with results. It was recommended to me by other mylotters.
