When I come across a discussion with zero (O) responses, I hesitate to be the first one to respond. For some reason I don't want to be the first responder. If it's the second or third it doesn't bother me. I have responded first but it come with a lot of waiting and thinking about it before I dive into the discussion.
Does it bother you to be the first responder of any of these discussions?

I don't mind if I am the first respondent in a discussion. In fact, it is easier to be the first, because you can speak your mind, without trying not to repeat what other users said in their posts (this, in case that you read other users' responses, as myLot guidelines say.)
It is funny when I start writing a response, knowing that it has zero responses and, when I finally hit the "post response" button, I realize my answer is the second or the third. This happens quite often, mostly because my English, which is not as good as I wanted. Until I manage to write down my thoughts, other users have already posted their responses.

I my case if discussion is interested and I can understand then I will send the response not think about no one is sent the response so why I should sent. I immediately open it and respond it.

Hello chevee,
I always like to be the first responder in any discussion because when you respond on 3rd or 4th there are chances that whatever thoghts you were having in your mind might be already given by someone. And you write the same thing it looks as if you have been inspired by that responder.

Nope, as long as I am interested to respond on a certain discussion, it doesn't really matter if I will be the only one to respond to it. Sometimes, being the first responder gets you to a lengthy discussion with the topic starter as you are the first to respond to him and that he will be able to respond quickly to you compared with a sudden burst of responders. Also, first responder always have the benefit of having their response being read by other possible responders as it is accessible to their eyes already compared to those in the other pages of the thread. So I think you don't have to bother if you are the first one to respond on a no response discussion at all.

Well, for me it often depends on what the discussion is as to if I feel I can respond back first or not. There are many times I have responded first to someone when they first have started a discussion. I have even gone from time to time the discussion tab with no responses seeing if there is something there I feel I can respond back to someone on and get that discussion moving.

It actually makes me feel good to be a first responder when I see someone's discussion with zero responses. Because I don't know how many responses those discussions might get in the first place. And it would be possible if I didn't respond they perhaps wouldn't even get one response. So it doesn't bother me.

It doesn't matter to me whether I am first or the tenth responder but what embarrassed me is being the first responder and being awarded the BR within minutes of responding. It is rare though but it happened to me twice. Quite shocking! And when a discussion has been hanging on mylot shelves with zero responses for a while it made me question myself why no one cared to respond. It is good to be the first responder as people will quickly follow suit. Be sometimes the discussion with zero responses has a high risk of being deleted as it has gone against mylot guidelines so people refrain from responding and being the first responder put us in the same fate as the OP.

I used to WANT to be the first responder, especially if I felt like I knew the right answer! Yup, bad bad me, but well now I just don't care. I do try to answer as many discussions as I feel I can be helpful on, and so whether I am number 1 or number 500 what does it matter?
I've not come across a discussion with 500 discussions on it though....

Hey Chevee
I never think twice before giving a response to nay of the posts on mylot. A discussion is worth responding only in case you have a sound idea what it is talking about or at least if you have had any experience relating to that post. Responding mere to get more of money in your mylot account is not fair. So being first or last should not be a concern if you relate to the post genuinely.

I don't believe I have had a preference as to whether I am the first one or not and actually if it is a new member and they are asking questions about myLot I am eager to enter the discussion as I can probably explain and be helpful. Even if it is not a new member or on my friend list I don't think I have had preferences with my responses.
I simply enter them after reading the discussion and try to be as descriptive as I can with my responses.

It don't bother me to be the first one to response on a discussion. Actually, sometimes I go the section of the discussions with no answers, because I always think that every (at least almost) deserve a response.

Some people want to be the first one to respond. Here we called it "sofa" (comes from so fast). In fact I really don't mind whether I will be the first one or last one to respond the discussion. It doesn't a matter for me. After all, I don't expect to the best response. I just want to share my views and that's all.

I also feel the same way before. I hesitate to reply if I find out that there are currently no response yet. However I don't want that to happen on a discussion that I open so freely respond to a new discussion even though I'm the first to answer it.

I like being the first responder. Unfortunately, usually by the time I get done typing, I'm no longer first! ARRgh.
