I was trying to log on to my mail in yahoo today but I can't get through. I tried logging in for 5th times. But still not working. Good things. I still remember my Question given to yahoo. I was so relief. Previously, my facebook was compromised too. Good thing I was able to retrieved it.

Oh gosh I am sorry to hear that both your Facebook and yahoo were compromised. I am glad to hear though that you were able to retrieve them both. It sad each time I see some suspicious emails from friends, as I can see each and every time their emails have been hacked. Did they manage to do any damage with your yahoo and or Facebook accounts? Like send out crazy stuff to any of your listed contacts?

For instance I am one who gets a lot of odd things from people who did have their accounts compromised and since I know they personally would not have sent this sort of stuff to me I usually let them know. Also you can check your sent folders to see if anything is listed there.

If you are using the beta version of yahoo. Then you go for old version. The problem will solve.

It happened to me too, not sure what happened or what the hacker did but I didn't bother to find out, I just changed the password of both my email account and my facebook account. So far, I haven't heard of any damages done by that deed. maybe a few spam mails to my mailing list but I am sure my friends are familiar enough with these kind of things to just ignore the spam mail. I hope nothing bad happened in your case too, like the hackers soliciting for funds on your behalf and stuffs like that.

Someone might already hacked into your account, all of your account. Did you use the same password for every single account you sign in? If so, you should consider change all of them with different password, so, no one can easily get into it. Hope everything will be fine with you.

you should change the password to a strong one or I suggest you get a new email Id as the old one may have been compromised making it less safe

haha. There seem to have many problems with regards to yahoomail in the past few months, especially when they are in the beta mode of their upgrade mail system.. haha =D There are a couple of times whereby i'm not able to log in as well, and when i'm in, my mails are not updating fast enough. If not, connection would be slow, and it's too tedious to use.. haha For now, everything is smooth, but i don't know when it's gonan act up again.. lol =D

That's good. My hotmail got hacked once, but it was just by spammers. I know because there was so many failed emails they tried to send on my account. I never got my facebook account compromised though.

years ago, this happened with my yahoo mail too. i did everything yahoo had told me to recover my password and open my account. but even after days and weeks and months had passed, unfortunately, i have not recovered my account. probably, i was hacked at that time. so to continue my online stuff, i opened another yahoo email account which i am using right now.

How did you retrieve it? I had that same problem before that's why I made another email from another website. Anyway, currently my friend is having that problem and that email account was so important to her because she uses it for work. Do you have any idea how she can retrieve it?

Yes, sometimes, things happened that way too but good that you had kept your other security questions intact.

Hi syoti! You've been hacked. I suggest you change your password immediately. My cousin's account had been hacked. He doesn't know that he's been sending spams to all his contacts. It's irritating for the receivers, actually.
Anyway, I wonder how yahoo mails seem easy to be hacked nowadays...

Its not permanent prob.i think.many time it happens.due to many attempt or due to system prob.so i think you should try it after some time.the other situation can be permanent removel of a/c.bcoz acording to yahoo terms,if anybody don.t use yahoo for more then 40 days then they remove a/c from their data base.so it may be prob.also.

You aren't the only one, my boyfriend has had this problem several times, and usually it's just depends on your online activities. If you play a lot of online games, they can target you that way, if you do a lot of online shopping, they can get you that way... it just all depends and where you are and what you are doing online. Make sure to always keep your security updated and make sure that you know what the security is like for the website that you are visiting.

Hiya syoti,
That is not the first time that has happend to me either but it managed to right itself and apart from the odd glitch it always works smoothly.
Yes I wrote my question and answers down and put them away carefully as well for just in case.

This is somewhat a frequent occourance. While i haven't had the inability to log in as of yet... that doesn't mean I haven't had my share of problems. Usually in the form of a bug sending spoff e-mails making it look like I e-mained myself a link to some sort of website. I don't do that, therefore I knew it was some kind of worm trying to creep it's way in. I of course am smarter than that and deleted the e-mails knowing they were nothing but trouble. I'd advise you to be careful.

It's dangerous if we lost password of mail or online account. Check your online accounts frequently to protect them.

Hi Syoti! My mom experienced the same thing. Unfortunately she doesn't remember the question asked. The sad thing was the one who stole her account sent solicitation letters to all her friends asking for money. So a lot of friends texted and contacted her to confirm if it was true. So now my mom doesn't use yahoomail anymore. She uses gmail.
