You can compare what PNoy is doing to a boat full of holes. The holes are the various corruptions perpetrated by Gloria Arroyo and her cronies. The ocean is the economic progress.
Is it ok to sail the ocean with the boat full of holes? Isnt it logical to fix the holes first before you even dream of decorating the boat?

I like your analogy! And I completely agree with you!
PNoy's administration is cleaning up what the past administration did. Bringing them out in the open. Making examples of them so that others will think twice, a hundred times before they could even contemplate doing anything shady.

@Philipp75: Political vengeance? Why would going after a corrupt leader, political vengeance? it is the duty of all elected President or prime Minister or whoever is elected by the sovereign will of the people to make sure the tax paid for by the people are used for the people and not to enrich just the few.
Corruption is endemic in our country because we let it happen. Just as I have said before, all it takes for the evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing. And your logic is quite perplexing: how can you achieve progress if 95% of the money to be used for progress goes towards corruption? Dont you realize going after big criminals like Gloria Arroyo is a big step towards economic success in all developed nations? Just look at the latest ADB report. it commends the latest administration for going after Gloria because it gives a good signal for foreign investors that they can pour in their money in our country and it wont be lost to corruption.
Going after corruption = one of the key towards progress. Making nonsense projects that past administrations of Gloria have done is not progress...it is wasted money, and wasted dreams. Please be enlightened and dont be influenced by those whose agenda is to save Gloria Arroyo from jail.

How can there be ECONOMIC GROWTH if there's no honesty? I actually approve on getting it all out in the open. I feel that PNoy's administration is just making good on what he promised on the election. He did promised then that he'd make the old administration pay for their past sins right?
I'm actually happy that in this sense he's doing something. I want those officials back then who sinned against the Filipino people to pay for their follies! I don't want what PGMA's administration did just be buried and forgotten!

haha i think that is just a coincidence that all the corruption that PINOY is trying to end in the country happens to have something to do with the arroyo clan and their friends... ;)
anyway.. i guess its good that we are able to know what the previous administration did to this country.. but i sure hope PNOY would be able to do more than chase arroyo's ghost in the past but also bring the country forward... *crossed fingers*

"Why does Pnoy dwells on pulling down all PGMA & her cronies" Is it just Pnoy who dwells on that thought or every freedom loving Filipino? Let's have a quiet time and honestly ask our self that question, don't we all in a way want to know the truth? Put the guilty behind bars? Do we sometimes feel disgusted because we were somewhat robbed and cheated of taxes we paid and a few people got to enjoy it to the max while our families struggle? Don't we all not want to get back at least a part of the stolen money if indeed they are guilty so we can use it more productively, to buy arms to defend our territory, build more infrastructure, provide for the needs of our people etc...at fair prices and without kick backs and the cases and convictions if there would be any become a precedent as well as warning for future administrations? Oh all the overpriced rice rotting in the NFA warehouses makes me feel sick just writing about it, So is it just Pnoy or a little something in all of us?

no. its a shame in our country that our own president stole millions in the government funds. and engaged to illegal transactions with her cronies. but we must find the truth. and those people who will be proven guilty must be punish by law. if we still have justice in our country.

The root cause of our problem is corruption so if the people who commited this crime is punished, maybe others will not even dare to do it. Maybe thats whay Pnoy is pushing his advocacy

Pnoy, as the successor of GMA, inherited all the problems of the Arroyo government - majority of that includes the allegation of graft and corruption. On his campaign on the latest election, he and all other presidential candidates made promises that the anomaly in the past administration will be addressed and resolved. This is what the nation want - to truly know what happened and create measures in order to make sure that the incidents won't happen again.
