Wearing watches on the right wrist

Even most people that still wear a watch wear it on the left wrist some people, like me, wear it on the right. I did that because my wife also wore it right and I thought it cool to have it on the same wrist. Soon I found it more comfortable on my right. What about you? Do you wear your watch on the right? Or does your partner or friend wear it right? In that case? Why not put it right too?

I don't wear it on either wrist as I stopped wearing a watch years ago! LOL However, when I did wear one, I wore it on my right. Not because I wanted to have it on the same wrist as my husband (he actually wore his on the left), but because I'm left handed. Oh, there used to be a time I wore it on the left, but after I found out it's more comfortable to wear it on my right, at least for me, that's the wrist I prefer to wear it on. Happy mylotting!

Hmm, maybe. But it isn't really necessary. I have a clock on my cell phone and I take that just about everywhere with me! LOL

Watch on my right hand - Wrist Watch
I am not like you dear! I am more comfortable when I wear watch on my left hand. I think it is easier for me to glance at the time when my watch is placed on the left. I sometimes try to wear watch on my right but it feels very awkward so I always end up putting it back to my left.

Well.. I always wear my watch on the left arm, cause it feels more natural. If you're right handed, you will often use your right arm/hand to other things, like holding a cup, bag or other stuff. When you are doing this, its not easy to look at your watch, if its on your right arm. So that's why i will not switch arm.

I don't see what's wrong in wearing watches on either wrist? It's up to each individual, based on their comfort. Some choose to wear on either left or hand wrist for convenience sake. I'm wearing my watch on my left wrist when i'm a right handed, while my brother a left handed, wearing his watch on his right. So what's wrong with our choice?

i'm a right handed person. i use my right hand in writing, combing, picking things and other things that you do which requires more accuracy. i wear my wrist watch on my left hand because if i wear it on my right hand, the wrist watch just gets in the way when i'm writing or stuffs and that makes me uncomfortable. also, i wear my watch a bit weird. well, most of people face their watch the same direction as their outer hand, for me, i face the wristwatch the other way around. it goes as the way my palm faces.. i am so comfortable with that and it's easy for me to look at the time =)

I don't think thats true. Here in europe mostly people wear it left, no matter if male or female. But as I said. In my family its the right wrist.

I don't wear a watch much anymore. I did every day for many years when I was a nurse. I always wore my watch on my left wrist because if I had a pulse to take, or something needed timed and written down I needed to do that with my right hand. I'm so used to it always being on my left wrist that the one time I did try and wear it on the right it just felt wrong lol, so I took it off and switched it back to the left. Most of my friends are still in nursing too, and they all wear theirs on their left also. My ex hubby was a left handed person, and he wore his on his right.

I have tried to wear it on my right wrist but it just doesn't feel right. I am right-handed but prefer to wear my watch on the left.

Any reason you tried it on the right? For me it first was uncomfortable. After two weeks it was OK. A bit later it was much more comoftable and I decided to keep it there permant

As long as I can remember, I've always worn my watch on the right. I'm not sure why I started wearing it on my right instead of my left but it's just something I've always done. I do remember one person I knew in college telling me later that the first time we met she thought it was quirky that I did so.

When I was kid I got my first wrist watch and I wore it on my right hand. But my parents told to shift it to the left hand. Then I used to do it and if I change it o my right hand I feel some kind of irritation. So I feel happy to be wore it at my left wrist itself. Also I observed that usually gents wore their wrist watch on their left hands and Ladies do it in their right hands.

It was just the opposite for us When one of the kids got his first watch he came home with it on the left. However my wife said in this house we would wear it right and so he switched. I don't think its a male/female thing though.

Hi! I wear my wrist watch on my left wrist. It is more comfortable because i am right handed and it does not interfere with what i am doing. I tried wearing it on my right wrist but when i write, the watch bumped on the table so i transferred it to my left wrist. I could also see most of the people are wearing watches on their left wrist so i assume that it is the right thing to do. Anyway, whether it is left or right as long as we are comfortable and it does not interfere with what we are doing is okay.

Why did you try it on the right? For me it was like it first was strange on the right, but then I got really comfortable. And I still think its cool if the whole family wears it right. Looks stylish :)

When I got my first watch when I was a kid, I've worn it on my right wrist until I noticed that most people do it with their left wrist, so, then I switched it. I've tried using it on my right wrist from time to time but the problem is that I'm having a difficulty strapping it. I'm used to those leather-belt strap type watches and it's a bit difficult to strap the watch on my right wrist without accidentally dropping the watch itself. So, when I feel like using the watch in my right wrist, I do it on the bed. That way should I accidentally drop it, it would just fall into the bed.

I wear my watch on my left wrist and i find it more comfortable that way. My sister sometimes wears it on the right wrist too and says both of the hands are fine with her. And i do have a friend who wears her watch on her right hand and says it feel uncomfy when she wears it on her lift wrist. I guess it's just one's habit and not much of a deal.

I first didn't care too. But my wife (back then GF) when she bought me a new watch insisted I wear it right like her. And I did :)

I am comfortable wearing it on my right wrist. I feel that since the right hand is heavier and busier so I don't put anything on it.

I wear mine on my right wrist, because I am lefthanded. If I am doing something with my left hand, but need to know what time it is, I can still look at my watch, without stopping whatever it is I am doing with my dominant hand. When I was really little and got my first watch, Mom advised me to wear it on my opposite wrist, and that was a really good idea.

I always wear it on my left.. i find it more comfortable there.. but i guess with practice you would find the other side comfortable too. I guess i am just a lefty, i even put my bag n my left shoulder..

Hi, I wear it on my left because I am right handed, the watch gets in he way of my dominant hand. I have to time my works even while doing heavy works hammering or digging and my right hand gets most of the load. A watch there can not last the punishment specially if it is a mechanical one, which is always my favorite.

when i was a kid and i have my first watch i wear it on my right arm but everybody around me think it's weird to wear on the right hand, so other people convince me to wear it on the left and after that i get used to wear my watch on my left hand. Now i always wear it on my left hand.

I also get sometimes strange looks. We told our kids to wear it on the right. My daughter also got told it was wrong. However she convinced some friends to wear it right too. And they all find it more comfortable
