The 'similar discussions' appear because the tags that you and other people add to their discussions are matched by tags on other discussions. You will be paid for WHATEVER you contribute, whether the discussion is new or old. If a discussion is relevant to you and you feel you can contribute, do so. Sometimes old discussions can be revived and attract many new responses and comments. When an old discussion gets some new responses, it will appear in the 'recent' tab, regardless of when the discussion was started. There are MANY old discussions which are worth responding to!

When u type for responding on top of it u get indication 6 hours ago - 3 months ago - that will tell us when that discussion was started. I use to look into it because I do not like responding very old discussions.

hi surekharathi if you look in the tab started and your discussion is still there then it does not matter at all how many discussions similar you saw on the right hand yours is still very much valuable. most of those are one or more years old and have no bearing on your discussion at all. rest sure that your discussion is very much alive and waiting for our responses. hugs. I rarely respond to them as osme I had already responded to months back. Yes I received comments on my responses on those I responded to.

I guess these discussion appears, because the one you started may be in some sort related to such discussion and was tagged the same as yours.Anyway as long as your discussion is not deleted due to it's relevance to some topics there's nothing to worry about. And yes you will be credited too for posting comments to such discussion weather it's new or old.

Hi surekha I see that owlwings did a wonderful job at explaining that we do earn for participation. Yes no matter how old a discussion is, it is still allowed to participate with it and earnings will be given as always remember here on myLot that participation is the key. In fact it is always best we do respond to old discussion, so that similar and or duplicates to not get started. As owlwings explained anytime you respond to a discussion, like I am doing now to yours. It will immediately go up to the recent tab and now many others will see it and respond also. Keep in mind too that even assigning a BR anyone can respond to a discussion and still earn because it is participation. I am glad you now have clarification and continue being happy here.

Well, i always experience this. As i would be responding to a discussion, similar topics appears below. Some would be months past already, so i don't answer them anymore for fear that the one who discussed it, might not answer back anymore.

If a discussion is something that is interesting to me, then I will respond to it regardless of when the discussion was started. The reason that I make the decision to do that is because we are not supposed to start duplicate discussions and that means if a discussion on the same subject has been started in the past, then it should not be started again. This means that there have been times that I've responded to discussions that are over two years old.

Yes, i have been seeing them. If i like them or i known to them, i can give response. But mainly i can start with new ideas, so rarely i will get them.

Hi You are talking about similar discussions. And in that space the discussions with the same tag of your discussions will appear their(more recently started). Well in mylot there is no ending of discussion. We can leave our response in any discussion regardless of its starting date. I mean mylot will pay you for your each and every contribution .. I have responded in those discussions many times.

dear friend i have never experienced this thing. As i always try to write on new discussions and never responded to old discussions. there is one rule that i have experienced that if you are the first to write on any new discussion or you are the first to write on any discussion you will be paid more than other. it also depends on the value of your comments and simplicity. some times people tried to explain in more than 500 or in between 500-1000 words but i don't think that it is useful.

I have also seen the same but i didn't post any response to those links. i think we should carry on with the newer ones and not bother much about old tags started by someone else.
