Keeping oneself healthy, taking all the precautionary measures on food, sleep and other general habits makes one really - W E A L T H Y. Otherwise the hard earned money has to be shared with the DOCTORS who are just squeezing money ...and it is really burden for a middle class person to bare the DOCTORS FEES. Share your thoughts...

Like every profession there are good doctors and bad doctors. It cost a lot of money to become a doctor and so it is only fair that doctors make good money. As consumers we must find the doctors that will truly help us and expose those that are taking advantage of their position to squeeze the poor and middle classes dry.

You have very nicely commented and I like it. I do agree that it costs a lot of money to become a doctor - but because of the modernisation and luxury they are spending huge amounts on the ambience of their hospitals, which indirectly the cost is being pUt on the patients...aFTER ALL the patients come with sickness and want to improve themselves to become healthy. Where their show or pomp do not work at all...any how this is a topic which needs goo understanding isn't it..??

Your thoughts are highly appreciated - but I feel that no one has this refined thoughts to go into and make a change. Every one has become money minded and have lost the charm of human love.Just we are living in this world as we are now....I am unable to select the appropriate word for this...!! It is the doctors who should think for what purpose they have studied this... and what are they doing....They will get the answers themselves...and if they themselves get rectified -then I and you will be the most happy persons,,, isn't it.

Yes I agree, the entire health care delivery system needs to be re-examined so that we can see how something so important as health care can be delivered with some type of quality and equality.

I guess there are also doctors who are concerned with the welfare of their patient and not just earn money. There are a lot doctors I know that do their job for free especially in some public hospitals. I also agree there are some who are taking advantage of us also so we just have to find the right doctor for us.

hi abatencila , I do agree that there are doctors who are concerned with the welfare of their patients and also are doctors who are at their liberty to do a lot of concession in their bills...and there are some even who take up free service at some hospitals. We hve to really apprecite their services and hats off to them.. Yes,taking medication with a licensed doctor is always better.

yes Emerald20, I agree with you - and as you say they have link with medical shops who have a cut money on it. This is too bad. I do agree there are some good doctors whose heart melts with the poverty line of the public and do some concessions - thanks to such catagory of Doctors.

I greatly agree agree with you. Some doctors are really trying to make money out of their profession. Doctor's prescribed certain brands of meds because they have a cut money on it, well in fact they can prescribed generic brands. But there are some doctors who really care about the welfare of their patients. We can still trust every licensed doctor because I am sure they are also afraid in making mistakes which may cause them revocation of their licenses:)

Hello busybee. When it comes to our health we need to be proactive and question what the Drs tell us. We need to keep in tune with our bodies. We also should look for alternatives if you have a serious problem. Some times the Dr will do unnecessary tests. I went to the urgent care a couple of years ago with a head ache and itchy scalp. I thought I had gotten head lice. The Dr did a cat scan and told me I had eczema. two days later I went to my regular Dr and found out I had shingles. $1500 for just the cat scan.

You see, this is the real problem you have faced and just imagine how many people are getting themselves suffering only because of Doctors..they are getting their money but poor people are suffering. Hence, it is always advisable to keep a keen eye on the health to keep ourselves away from sickness. This is very important..

Well, if you're willing to risk you health with self medication and listening to people who think that they are doing the right thing, then that's up to you. But when health is concerned, I'd rather go to someone who has the experience, know how and training to handle such. I don't really think doctors are charging more. I think they're charging just right with all the thinking that they do for you. Not to mention that they've gone through a lot of difficult schooling and expensive schooling to get to where they are right now. And besides, if you can afford to buy fancy cars, top the line gadgets and such, then you shouldn't short-change your health. Yes, there are doctors that charge too much but still they're being regulated too much as well. Would you accept pennies if you spent huge amounts of dough to get to where you are now? I don't think so. Have a great MyLot experience today!

well, the doctors are still the best trained and most reliable source of information and prescription on how what to do when one is sick. i will not depend on untrained practitioners by science. however, for minor sickness, i don't have to rely on doctors. common sense and prevention are the best companions. however, for serious medical concerns, the doctors are the best people to put our lives and health.

Our doctor Ramakrishna Rao, cardiologist in chennai a very nice person. he charges reasonable amoutn 150 per visit. He prescribes medicine and we take from any shop. Much depends on one's own luck to get good wife, good doctor, good teacher, etc.

You are lucky to have a good and friendly doctor who is charging reasonable price which is in the limits of a middle class earning person. I appreciate your sentence...,"Much depends on one's own luck to get good wife, good doctor, good teacher, etc."
