religion addiction

Hey guys.. I'm wondering if you ever encountered or heard about religion addiction. I've read it from a book ( sorry can't remember the title of the book) way back 6 years I guess and then I asked my religion professor about it when I was in 1st year college but he did not answer me with direct answer. Please share your views mylovely mylotters.. well appreciated :)

Hi Emerald, As if now, the entire world is reeling under this addiction which has gone far beyond the healthy limits.Any kind of addiction has its own negative impact on the society.An institution like religion when it is taken beyond limits can ruin the society . We see it happening everyday, especially so in my country where the religious fanatics are causing havoc and playing with innocent lives every day...

Hi Kiran! Can you site an example at your place that really describes this religion addiction. have you heard of the feast Black nazarene in Philippines where all the devoters come to the place where the feast will be held and then "poof!" there's a stampede. can we consider this as a kind of religion addiction?

Hi Emerald, as long as people keep their faith to themselves and find solace in their beliefs it becomes a positive force.But when any religious belief and addiction makes a person or religious group to commit crime or resort to violence in the name of Religion then it becomes a negative force which should be condemned by everyone... About h that feast you mentioned, it is something that happens everywhere when too many people get together and there is no control ...
