Is anyone feeling 'old'?

I have recently. Some of my bones ache, and I'm quite a bit forgetful nowadays, yet I don't feel like I should be feeling those things yet. Anyway, when that sort of thing happens, you just can't help but realise you're getting old, and that I probably don't have much longer in life, cosmically speaking anyway. Some philosopher said that in order to live, you must grasp the inevitability of fate, and you must live a meaningful life taking that into account, and I think i want to start that now. Anyone who felt that sort of minor epiphany before? I'm a bit curious to see if that's an epiphany anyway.

When I reach my age of 40 lots of changes I felt in my eyes need to use reading glass, reduce my food intake and balance diet. Mostly make sure good sleep and in the right time and enough time. Some of us will accept the we are going to this kind of level so we mush prepare and careful..

Thanks for the advice. Age shouldn't restrain me yet. Although I don't know how I'll prepare mnyself. I'll probably eventually cope anyway. Thanks!

May be psychological thinking only, try to relax.

what's up duckie? Your profile says you are 25. You feel old nd have thoughts of perhaps dying soon? This is not good. Yes, indeed in order to truly live we should find something meaningful and that something should bring us satisfaction and joy for being alive. Myself I am 72 years old and yes sometimes I feel old but mostly only when I am around my grown children. They seem to think I am old, my opinions are not appreciated and sadly enough we don't have a lot to talk about as they don't seem to be interested in what is happening in my life. However, I do a lot of volunteer work in an organization close to my heart. My paid coleagues are young 25 and up. I am deeply respected there, my opinions are constantly sought and genuine regrets are always expressed when I cannot come and do a shift due to other commitments. I also do Tai Chi once a week and cardio and strenght training another day. I walk and talk with friends my own age and I never feel disadvantaged because of my age. Of course there are little aches and pains but they are part of life. As for forgetfullness. We have to excersise our brains as well as our bodies by doing mental tasks such as crossword puzzles, reading and keeping up with the news. Go to it, you have a long life ahead of you!

Maybe it's a sorta psychological thing. Maybe I've persuaded myself that I'm old, and that's what I've become. I've probably seen to much change in my adolescents than I expected, and that's probably making me think what I think. Thank you!

I'm older than anyone else who's responded so far and I can tell you that a few aches and pains and a little forgetfulness doesn't make you old. Now, when your body starts to fall apart and you can't remember where you put the milk and hope to heaven it's in the refrigerator somewhere... when your ingrown toenails are hurting, your dentures hurt your mouth and it's time (yet again!) to have your eyes checked and you don't even realize there's anything wrong... then you're getting old. You're a young whippersnapper. Enjoy life, epiphany or not. And, no, I never had one like that. Maybe I'm not too philosophical or alert to life, but I'll just keep living until I can't make it any more.

They say that age is just a number, yes it's true. But we can never deny that our body changed, our physical looks changed as we aged. Our feelings changed as well. We are not as strong same like when we are 20 yrs old. Once we reached 40..we started feeling weak, some are even younger as 30's. Thu our emotions keeps the child within us...our physical strength weakens and our looks changed whether we accept or not.

Hm. Does this mean that I feel old because I think I feel old? In fact, if I believe myself to be young, then I'll start jogging in mornings right?

Feeling old can you do when you compare your age with certain things. Like you do not have to long and wait for getting to be 18 years old or 21 to become an adult in age. Then if you act like an adult is another matter. Forgetfulness happens in any age. It can have other reasons. You have lived with too much stress, so the brain shut off to rest up. Try to live a healthy life by regular exercises 2-3 times a week. Walk daily. Eat vegetable, fruits, chicken and fish. Drink plenty of water. Have good sleeping habits. Make sure you have several good laughes every day. Do things which make you feel appreciated and worthy. Do work outs physical exercises to build your muscles. 1-2 time a week. I'm 52 trying my all to stay healthy. I'm a student working to get eligible for college studies.

You probably aren't old yet, I too always forget something, but try to exercise at least once in a while.
