Seriously.. I am a first year medical student, and i don't know how to manage my time.. I tried everything, yet still I failed.. I always play video games before i study.. the next thing i know, it's already almost midnight.. then i start to blame myself for not using my time wisely.. the next day.. with that in mind.. i still get tempted in a lot of things, in the end.. the same thing has happened to me.. How can I manage my time?.. Like seriously.. i need to manage it now.. since the exams are getting harder and harder.. I got lack of sleeps.. not because i studied, but because i was goofing off.. what a waste of my precious time.. i wish i could get it all back.. and start to be serious..

I know your feeling . I dropped out of college because of playing the computer a lot of time. It was like running a way from the reality for me.
If you know what you love in the video game then look for what you like in the game that is also in your studdies , so you turn your addiction to studies instead of gaming.
I must say I tried it but it worked for a short time only.I was not very consistent.
You can also try the first 5 minuts chance: this is like a game that you try to bit your own record every time : try studing for 5 minuts without taking a break . there might be a chance you will have fun doing it and enjoy the challenge , so you will forget about the videogame and you will be focused on the studing without noticing it at all. if you didn't like it , it was only 5 minuts , so try it again later. try to bit your last record so you will improve in time , get more effective studing.
You can also think about the studies as a videogame , the questions are monsters you must kill. You can try improving your records and studing skills ( reading , thinking and focus lol ) it's like improving attack , defense , magic . Then , the reward is good grades and a diploma :p
you can also try a nice idea : start thinking about simple math problems like 5*8 , 3*4 +5 , so your brain start working , then you are in the mode of logic thinking and it is more natural for you to study.

I can certainly understand how you feel, as I had problems with time management, while in university. I can certainly relate. One thing that you can do is to go talk to a career counselor, or to the dean of medicine. You can probably go to them and talk to them about your situation. They would certainly be in a position to help you and advice you. It could certainly help. Something to also keep in mind is that time management does require self discipline.

Actually creating own time management requires self dicipline, self control and determination. In your case those things I mentioned are lack on you. So first try to do it wisely and honestly then you can see what is the result..

I'm like that sometimes and i end up cramming a lot when exam comes.not a good attitude if you want to pass in school. you have to divide your time, like, weekend is playing time and weekdays are for school lessons. i know its hard coz i've been there. I was once addicted to games that i don't even bother to eat all day and night and just keep on playing but now i totally abandon playing games and i dont even miss it.you have to prioritize everything. you have to ask yourself, which matters most to you, your games or school. games are always there but failing grades won't get you nowhere in life and you'll be wasting time and money.
