India

Hello all It's second day between India and England in Lord's. Surprisingly England declared their 1st inning on the score of 474/8. Is it too much for the batting side like India?

In my opinion England declared their first innings a little bit early. They should have carried their innings to the remaining two wickets. However it's difficult for India to win this test match. England still have chance which all depends on how Indian batsmen survive today's morninf session.

Yup I agree to you and the rest of day's play should not be rain interrupted in order to watch the historical test match ever.

I think the weather forced Strauss hand. I think with the ball swinging as much as we saw yesterday, England actually have a great chance to bowl India out cheaply. One good thing for India of course is the performance of Praveen Kumar. If the ball swings he is really a menace. Cheers! Ram

Hi Saurabh, It would be too early to comment on this topic, only time can answer this question. Main factor that will affect this match will be the first 90 minutes of 3rd day, how Indian batsmen handle the swing, pace and bounce on that pitch will decide the result of this game but I feel it's going to be a draw. Players like Dravid and Laxman will not win a test match in these scenarios, instead of that if they play approximately 200 or more balls, it will certainly be a draw match.

Day two of the first test concluded with England delaring at 474 for the loss of eight wickets and India in reply have got 17 on the board with all wickets in the bag. Looking at the situation England have got themselves into a position that they are safe for now and will try to bowl India out cheaply in the first innings to hold on to the game. The Indians have a strong batting line up and will have to stay put if they have to get close to the score that England have set in their first innings. The conditions will be tough to bat but consentration will be the key factor. Its going to be an exciting day three of the first test match and lets just hope that rain stays away..
