Where is the strangest place you've found money?

Or where would the strangest place you'd be to hide the money? I'd have to say that I would most likely hide it in a more common place that someone would know to look, an underwear drawer, etc. I don't need to hide any money, but thought this would be a good subject to broach.
Have you ever had to hide money from yourself?
I think if I needed to hide money from myself I would most likely take and put it in the bottom of a drawer, as I always seem to find money I've saved up a few years later!

The strangest place to hide money is the least normal spot a person would think of to put money. I used to hide it in books and that worked for awhile until I forgot. If you don't think you can remember then you need to write it down some place and keep that safe. Whatever works for a person I would think.

Books? that's a good option, the least likely place a person would think to look. The bible is another place I know people have hidden money. I used to unintentionally hide money by leaving it in cards and putting it in my drawers, I saved about $40.00 I believe it was one time by doing that.

I used to hide my money under the couch when I was little, haha. I was scared of everyone finding it and taking it, but since I was the one who cleaned the living room that never happened. I found a $20 bill outside a pizzeria once while walking home from class. It was just lying there abandoned and no one was around and the pizzeria was closed. I was happy

Oh hehe, hide it where no one else bothers to look. Money always falls into the couch cushions, I like looking in between them sometimes just for the spare change.
Wow $20! that's a great find!

Well, I hide it in an old shoe and you know what? When I needed the money, I got the shoes only to throw it because a snake lived on the shoe!

yowza! That's not fun! I'd have been screaming for a good few minutes and would have had to have someone come in and check the whole house for a snake!

I remember two years back i used to hide ( safe ) my spare money under my bed base, I made a hole that the money can be inserted but unluckily some mice eat them all because the hole is big enough for them to enter since then i stop hiding paper money but my spare coin.

Oh well that sounds like a good place to hide it, but maybe you could try hiding it again but this time in two plastic bags, put two zip lock bags inside of one another, put the money in and zip it shut, so that it's safe from those mice!

Under you're bed, or under you're mattress? Back years and years and years ago women used to sew their money in their clothing. I think they may have done this with their dowry, I forget where I heard this from.

I hear of people sticking money in coat pockets and forgetting it until they find it when the season changes
I have also heard that people stick it in shoes
but these are all places that burglars also look
Personally, I'd rather just leave it in the bank...

Oh yup coat pockets, I think I've found my money there before. It's a nice little surprise when the season rolls back around, especially winter season gearing up for Christmas. Now shoes, yeah I've done that when I was walking around and didn't feel like carrying a purse, or this was really when I was younger.
I deal with my money through the bank as well, but I know there are still some who don't trust banks at all...

Aside from the occasional bill in a jacket that I forgot about I have never lost and then found money before.
A few years back when I didn't have a checking account I would cash my paycheck and not have anywhere to put my money until I paid my bills. I once lifted up a tile in the ceiling of my living room and put an envelope of money up there. The last thing I needed was for someone to break in and find a whole bunch of money lying around in a drawer.

I think I've heard of people putting it in the ceiling, or maybe I'd just considered doing it myself, I forget which. Well that's a good place to hide it, no thief would think to look UP!

We hid money in one of our caravans whilst travelling once, and forgot about it. When we remembered we had an acquaintance staying in the caravan and we didn't want to let on that there was cash hidden in there in case they found it first as we could remember exactly where it was. Every time they went out we turned the caravan upside down, but eventually we found it again!

Maybe the strangest place I have ever found money, is inside an old National Geographic, I bought in a used books stores once, a few years back. It was not much, an old banknote, worthing no more than US 0.50 cents, at the time, yet, it was money after all.

What a nice find! Sure it wasn't much but it was a surprise nonetheless! I suppose whoever gave that away always kept money in their National Geographic's and forgot to take it out.

Some time ago, when I was working in Asia, I had to move from one city to another. I came from the northern part of the country, and had to move to the south. It was an hour and a half plane ride away, across some islands. I had to bring my car, so I had to ship it.
I wanted some cash when I got to the southern city, but I didn't want to bring it on me. So I hid some cash in the folds of the leather seat of my car!
I couldn't remember what prompted me to do it, but it worked. Nobody ever knew that I had money in there even though the car went through several inspections in the shipyard.

I usually hide my money in pocket books with boring titles. I think it is safer than putting it in drawers as that is the most obvious place for a burglar to look at. If you have a lot of books you can safely put your money there because I think a burglar would not bother looking through all of your books just to find money.
The weirdest place I found money is in the trash bin. It was all crumpled up. I think the previous owner may have thought it was a piece of paper or something.
To leave an advice I think if you have a large sum of money, it is better to leave it in a bank instead. At a bank it will earn interest plus it is secured. Just put it in a bank that you think has a lot of credibility.

Oh I have a bank account, I only plan to save little bits of money outside of the bank, something I can use to go and get something to eat or to pay for laundry washing etc if need be. I figure maybe once I get a job the money I make online will be taken out of the bank and put somewhere safe, for a rainy day, or for a "spend me once per year" sort of fund. In any case, that's one weird place to find money, In the TRASH.. How much was it?

Putting money in a drawer is a good way to hide money from yourself. The strangest place I'd found money was on the ground or on the floor. I remember when I was in about ninth or tenth grade picking up these coins in strange places. One time, when I was walking the hall to my next class in tenth grade, I found two dollars off the floor and kept it for myself. My sister also found money off the ground or on the floor of a movie theater or somewhere especially in upper middle class and rich areas like Towson where people drop money and don't care about it because they always have it. I've also found money that I may have forgotten to taken out in my pants pocket before. It's so cool.

I love when I find a few dollars, sometimes people put a bit extra money into a machine, say the drink is $1.25, they put $2.00 and don't worry about the change, so sometimes you can find change there. Also you can find nickels or pennies sometimes in the self checkout things.
$2.00 is pretty good, I don't think I've ever found money like that when I was in school.

I found about $70 walking to the store once. It was halfway in the ditch, so I don't know if someone dropped it or what. But I hide my money in the wall in my house. There is a spot I can pull up the wood paneling and put stuff in there. I keep a machete in there too just in case someone breaks in. Ha ha never noticed how weird that sounds till I wrote it out.

Hiding from me I would hide it in a coat pocket or purse. That is where I find it, plus once in jeans pockets. Hiding from others, like I was driving cross country over thirty years ago with like 1000 in travelers checks I put them in a tampon box. I needed to have it to rent a place when I got there.

I have found money in an old notebook that I abandoned so many years back in my room.
