In my opinion, some singers rise to fame because their song has a nice tune even if the lyrics is not so good. Some singers don’t really have a very nice voice, but because the song they sing took the fancy of the people , they become a hit. Although, there are singers that really have a nice voice, but still , if they don’t have a song that will really be liked by so many people , they wouldn’t become so popular. Do you think so too?

Yes, i can agree with you to a certain points. In this ever comercialize musical world, a lot of time a new singer can rise to fame if her /his marketing manager did a good job in the promotion and marketing campaign, then not having a nice voice or nice tune in the song will not be a problem at all to reach the fame of celebrity. it is getting quite common nowsaday with the rapid commercialization of music and profit driven song industry.

Correct. One example are the rappers. They may not have a nice voice, but when they do a rap with a nice background music and the people likes it, well , he can rise to fame too.

Yes, my friend! It is all about marketing in today musical world, you are right about those rappers, some of them can't even pronounce the words clearly let alone can sing to the tune, but they just rise to the fame with plenty of effective marketing by their public relation manager, it is especially true in America where "shock" effect and low value singer can rise to fame quickly if he has the right manager managing his singing career. remeber, there are also people out there like to listen to trash music too. lol!!

There are lots of singers that really cannot sing. But they keep making hit after hit. Also some of the music out there has no meaning what so ever. Most people like a song because the melody is nice or they just simply like the beat. Also, the music business is all about trends.

That's correct Inertia. So i guess, anyone with a bit nice voice could make a hit, if the song has the tune well liked by the people. But here in the Philippines, we go for a very good voice, for a singer to rise to fame.

I agree with that. If you have a good voice you should be able to make it. But here in the U.S. there are people who can sing real good, but never make it. Like I said, it's all about trends.

True. Many "singers" become famous because their songs are easily memorized and sung by many. Some songs are lame and others are downright suggestive but people seem to enjoy singing along.

Yes, some songs are simply repetitive words, yet they become a hit. In my opinion, it's because the tune is upbeat and light to the ears and as you said the people seem to enjoy singing along because the lyrics are just repetitive.

That's correct. People likes songs they can easily sing along with. But i guess, when a song is a hit, it couldn't be helped but to be aired at all times at those public transport. Being so, people memorizes those refrains.

I kind of have to agree, but I also feel that songs now a days become popular not only because of the lyrics, but also the rythm and sounds. A lot of songs also become popular because of the singer as well, normally if they are popular their songs will have a good possibility of becoming popular. To be honest with you, I sometimes pay attention to lyrics, but what really attracts me to songs lately is the beat and rythm.

Madam, you are abosolutely right! I share your opinion, please give me a handshake. I think showbusiness is a very risky business and it can also spring you up to fame and also take you down also. I know of artist that come out with great hit but as they release their second hit their popularity start to dwindle or become low.

Well, that's because the first one was nice to listen to. Whereas maybe the second one was just a so-so. Don't you think so? Well at least they have their "hit" and a taste of fame.

Yeah, I know and I agree with you. That's why it is so sad to know that even if they look weird and sing bad stuff they still rise to fame and people praise and worship them because they are famous. That's why, I believe, there is also a rise in sin because singers (who are bad examples to kids) are being heard and are being looked up to by these kids and are even imitated by them. tsktsk.

Yes, there are rockers whose songs are to me "noise". Then the way they gyrate and dress is not a good example to the kids. Sadly, some kids do idolize them though.

yes i do think there are some singers out there who are famous just because they are goodlooking and because of their managing company.

That's right, being good looking can also be a stepping stone to rise to fame. If you are a singer, with really good looks, one single hit will catapult you to fame.

Marcelito Pomoy - PGT Season 2 Grand Winner
Hi SIMPLYD, I do think so! You know Marcelito Pomoy right? Well, he's from our place; Bislig City.. he's not that handsome but he has this golden voice of a female even if he is a male and he said he is straight! We are still amazed of his voice! I just had the chance to take a close-up pic of him though! :)

I have seen him perform with Sarah, Zsa zsa and Martin at ASAP last Sunday. He was amazing ! Martin and Sza congratulated him after for his very nice share in the song.

Well yes you're right. The song choice matters. But in my case though I still care about the lyrics. I like singers with meaningful songs. Thoough sometimes there are songs which I don't like the lyrics yet I still find myself singing it because of the tune or because of too much repetition on the radio.

Yes, the tune really matters to us too. And its popularity over the radio or the public transport where we ride going to our work, helps also.

Yes I agree. It's like some singers depend on how the music would have an impact to the society. I feel frustrated when I hear these singers and then like wow, I am better than them" just kiddin':) Maybe they still deserve the fame.:)

Yes, some singers really can have the luck of having a music that will be well received by the hearing public. I noticed though, that songs with happy and upbeat tune is well appreciated by the people. The lyrics sometimes are rubbish! Yet, the singer rise to fame because of that.
