Hello everyone,
Why are so many smokers do not understand that the smoke really bothers Non smoking?
Why do so many smokers do not understand that their smoke bothers Non smoking really?
If they do not care?
Why are some people so inconsiderate?
Last time I was in town, it started to rain heavily and I am set on a small bench in a bus shelter, where some other people are sitting.
An old woman next to me has really smoked one after the other.
Her ashes are on my clothes, my shoes, and I smoke because of the strong wind in his face constantly.
Beside me sat a little girl the entire time has been smoking.
I said nothing, because only then is yes.
"Seat yourself off yet ..."
etc.
Can someone explain to me why so many smokers are so selfish?
Can not understand how disgusting it smells Non smoking room, not to mention the health consequences?

Many people are simply ignorant and selfish ...
But I also think that smokers will find the responses to the Non smoking excessively and can not imagine that they feel disturbed. Some smokers want to justify not just for their behavior and are often aggressive when they are asked about it.
Since about a third of Germans smoke, it will be impossible to dissuade the company from this habit and it is best if you at least tried to arrange among themselves.

Yes, just ask him to throw smoke elsewhere. Then the next you'll find other smokers sitting near you.

I think SMOKERS understand but just don't mind. I have tired 2-3 sticks my whole life just to try how it feels like but then it was NO GOOD.
Smokers can't stop them self for they are addicted to it. Nicotine causes addiction and that's horrible. They can stop the addiction if they will have ask for medical help and with self determination.

I find the whole addiction excuse to be worthless. I've smoked for 5 years and while I know I'm dependent, it doesn't control me to the point that I am not aware of my surroundings. The "I need my fix and can't control myself" thing is just old. Smoking doesn't make people ***holes. People are already ***holes.

Hi dayangsumbi
There are really folks who are like that. I am a smoker but I know and understand enough how disgusting it is for others especially those non-smokers to be able to smell and worse to inhale the harmful smoke that I'm puffing, put to mind that it is also a second-hand smoke. One study I've heard before says that those who are able to inhale the smoke are the the ones who are more harmed than the ones who are actually smoking. Thus, I would say that smokers are not supposed to act like that especially in public places, they should learn the proper etiquette and try to be more considerate. If that happens to you again I suggest you can speak up your mind to him/her, just be assertive.

Hi my friend,
The best thing done by a smoker is like you, always understood we were tortured. I wish that I could do firmly, but I'm afraid if it made him irritable.
Great day

I also know so many smokers who seem to be so selfish when it comes to thinking about others - I don't want to be breathing in their disgusting second hand smoke! I have never understand why anyone would start smoking in the first place - its a terrible habit, it smells awful, it is so unhealthy and causes all kind of health problems, and its hugely expensive!! Why would anyone take up a habit like that??

Yup, it's ok we appreciate them, but what would we find? Should they have to respect us as well, which obviously hates smoke.

i absolutely agree. some smokers are very inconsiderate and selfish. they just release a big bunch of disgusting smells. specially in a public area where not everybody is smoking. we can all be passive smokers.
you know sometimes, i wish that every smokers has its helmet. you know like astronauts has or a big fish bowl,.,LOL. a big clear helmet so they can see. and traps the smokes inside whenever theyre smoking or release it somewhere for them not to suffocate themselves. by then they will just have their smoke and ashes.LOL

i also tried smoking for curiosity's sake and i simply do not understand what is good about that.. i studied nursing so i know the disadvantages of smoking, and I pity those who receive second hand smoke and become ill because of that.. so im happy to some cities which prohibits smoking in public places,. however, even if prohibited, the implementation is so poor that many still smokes at public places..
maybe the reason why smokers do not understand that the smoke really bothers Non smoking is that they lack knowledge on the bad effects of second hand smoke.. they have to be educated for them to understand that and for them to comply.. and another reason is that, they simply do not care about others.. many smokers know that they can affect the non smokers but they dont give a damn so they still continue smoking in public areas..
oooops! im not angry with smokers though because i have many friends who smoke.. it's just that there is a right place and right time for that my friends.. ?

I agree with you, so do I, many of my friends are smokers. I understand their situation but that does not mean I have to accept the adverse effects of second hand smoke, is clearly detrimental, at least, we should respect each other in this regard.
Good day

Smokers that don't care are probably selfish. I am an ex-smoker! That's right, Ithought it would be impossible, but believe me to narrow down slowly, taking time can actually make stop smoking possible.
But when I did I get out from the friend's house, I never smoked where it wasn't allowed and never smoked in people's car. I think it's just disgusting to make non-smokers go through that and now that I joined you I'll request the same right :D

Do not understand this because they do not want to understand it. If they did, they would stop smoking and so in turn they can not because they are addicted.
You would have as well behave differently: If you really since the ash meets and goes to the clothes, your clothes will break even. The smoker must also see. Also, I assume that you were not the only one who cares.
It is perfectly legitimate for you to say that it bothers you. Then the woman has at least a chance to respond yes or they think so it does not bother anyone. In addition, you were (I think times) in the first stop.

Whoever will not understand this situation, just like you and I really do not understand this behavior. What should be done is not to let this situation continue, even without the warning from us. Is there a compensation of a smoker who throw the ashes to you? I think not, although it is clearly detrimental to your health.

Yes I think you're right!
Some smokers are really nice and go out then, but there are also some tolerance, which in turn demand from non-smokers.
So that is utterly incomprehensible to me, smoking is a nuisance! It stinks everywhere pitiful and ash flying around, but you can not have tolerance, why should I tolerate it when someone threatened my own health?
I let my gut so gases can not escape the midst of people and then demand a tolerance

The problem is that there are many people who are so used to smoking on a day to day basis that the negative aspects don't get to them. Non-smokers are often repulsed by those who do smoke because of the bad smell, something that smokers have become accustomed to. The one thing that I always think about when I am surrounded by smokers is that second hand smoking is more dangerous than smoking itself.
I smoke now and then, like when I am on a night out drinking with friends, and I do find it much more pleasant if I am joining in rather than just inhaling second hand smoke. I believe that people who smoke in public and crowded places may be inconsiderate but not selfish

I just think about how their lives (and wallets) are running out. As evil and mean it sounds... In this day and age people know about the consequences, they know what will happen to them. As for people who picked it up before everyone knew this knowledge I feel sorry for you
