We still don't know!

Kristen had her first ultra sound Wednesday, and unfortunately, we still don't know if we're having a boy or a girl! We were a little disappointed.
The technician said the baby was too little (only weighs 5 ounces at this point) and just wasn't cooperating where you could see if it was a boy or a girl. I personally think it is a girl. I may be wishing because I want it to be but many have speculated that it is a girl.
Some of their reasons are: because she is carrying the baby really high, because she is still extremely ill with morning sickness all day long even at 17 weeks, because she has lots of heart burn, because she is craving certain foods....Then there is the little elderly Chinese woman who put her hand on Kristen's belly in the grocery store and said You are going to have a little girl. Then turned and walked off! That was really kind of creepy because we didn't know the woman and she seemed to appear and then disappear.
So anyway...have you ever had anyone predict the gender of your baby and guessed right over something silly such as "You're craving salad, dark chocolate and apple juice? It must be a boy!"
Oh! I'm also including the sweetest ultra sound picture of my new grandbaby.!!!!!

Congrats on your upcoming grandbaby!
I remember when I was pregnant with my youngest everyone (other than my husband and I) thought it would be a girl. Some even mentioned it was a girl by the way I was carrying the baby. It drove me crazy. LOL I didn't care one way or the other if I was having another boy or a girl, but it soon got to me with all the talk about how I was going to have a baby girl...
However, I tried my best to make light of it and even teased back, particularly my FIL. He'd say it was a girl, I'd say it was a boy. At one point I even said it was twin boys! He wasn't convinced though! LOL
When it was time for the ultrasound, my baby was turned the wrong way so the technician couldn't tell if I was having a boy or a girl. It was then at that very moment that I knew I was having a boy, although I still wanted to be 100% certain. The tech offered to wait a few minutes so she could try again. I took her up on it. Sure enough I was right. I was having a baby boy, just like I thought. LOL
So as you can see, all these reasons don't mean anything. They're just old wives tales. Though for your sake, I sure hope they are right!
Congrats again!

Well we've found out since this post that we are having a little boy. Bentley Tyler will be here sometime around January 1st. We're excited and although I really wanted a girl...I will be so happy as long as he arrives healthy and happy!

Isn't ultrasound one of the greatest inventions?! Back when we had our kids, they only would do one if they thought something was wrong, and now they do them routinely as part of the checkup. I can understand the disappointment, but sometimes they are just turned wrong and they can't tell at all. Yes, I remember people I didn't know sticking their hand on my prego stomache and predicting what it will be, and also those elders who claimed it was going to be a boy because I craved a certain food. Hah! They were ALL wrong. It didn't matter how high, or low, I carried, and food cravings didn't offer any real 'vision' at all. I'm hoping your grandchild is healthy and happy when she does get here, and that your daughter's pregnancy will go fine. I'm a grandmother too (3 times so far); I think this grandma stuff is just super and the most fun!! ps...LOVE the ultrasound pic!!

I am so excited and every day that we get closer to January 3rd (Our newest due date) I get more and more excited! We did have a bit of excitement last week. We had to spend an evening in the emergency room after the baby decided to kick Kristen in the appendix for several days!
BTW...we've found out since this post that we're having a boy! Bentley Tyler!
